Earlier thread on Minisry reminded me of Nine Inch Nails the band that made industrial music more mainstream and commerical, earlier albums such as " Pretty Hate Machine" and "Downward Spiral" were able to do what earlier industrial bands such as Ministry and Skinny Puppy were unable to do, receive mainstream radio play, IMO Trent Reznor is a great songwriter and I even liked the much hated " the Fragile' it reminded me (moodwise not sonically) of David Bowie's Berlin Trilogy (Low, Lodger, and Heroes).
