Me too...I even have the Thunderground unreleased album, and several demos under the names The Generators and Shooze. Have all the Funny Money stuff as well. LOVE this band...easily one of my Top 10 favorite bands ever, regardless of genre. Arttie

- 4. None of the albums (even the live ones) EVER quite duplicated what these guys could do on a headlining gig. Steve Whiteman was a raving lunatic, he played saxophone on some tracks...never heard on the albums. Donnie Purnell (the real mastermind behind the band) was also a whirling dervish on stage. I remember seeing them once in Cumberland MD and during the first song he cut the side of his foot open on something sharp at the front of the stage...it was bleeding like crazy. He didn't skip a beat, after the first track he grabbed one of Whiteman's scarves, wrapped it around his foot and played the rest of the gig. At the end of the night there was blood all over the stage.
Kix brings back alot of memories.... love them & saw them many times; that post^^ reminds me of how we were listening to them talk about past shows back in the day & they were saying some crazy stuff like "that halloween show where we had that cauldron thing onstage" & maybe they something like steve was dressed up like a witch stirring it...? we were just like "why can't you do some of this stuff when you play in OUR area!?? " regardless the shows were a mile a minute & action packed--loved when they brought the big balloon bag out everytime..!

It's a great new wave/hard rock/power pop crossover that's totally unique...the only thing i've heard similar is Candy's Whatever Happened To Fun (1985).

OK, I could be way out in left field here, but wasn't there some kind of connection betweeen Candy and the Electric Angels (another band which I've wanted to grab for awhile). Regardless if I'm wrong or not, a new wave/hard rock/power pop crossover is a pretty accurate description of 'Cool Kids'
