Not really. A tiny niche following and they play much smaller shows and practically no fests. Then they go to Europe and play much larger fests and the crowds are far more receptive.

Obvioulsy I know this. My point was Manowar is a joke to most American metal fans. Just look at this board. We have fans of bands like Saxon, Overkill, Hirax, Blackened (these bands aren't all from the US of course) and many more bands that were never hugely popular in the states.

Most of these people laugh at Manowar. Or are you just not reading the thread? Or any other Manowar thread.

Well, I've started with Kings Of Metal and it interested me enough to check out their other albums. So that would be my suggestion but again, I'm a newbie when it comes to Manowar.
