I'm heading to Sin City this weekend for my brother's Bachelor Party. When we're not spending money on hookers and blow, what else should I see while I'm there? We won't have a car, so any suggestions have gotta be walkable or a reasonable cab ride away. Also, this will be my 6th trip to Vegas, so I've pretty much seen all the "usual attractions", ie Fremont Street, Hard Rock Casino, $1 Heinekin bottles at O'Sheas, Cirque Du So-merry, the glory holes at Glitter Gulch.

Also, any music shops or places to get cheap music? I'm planning on checking into any pawn shops I might come across, but any suggestions from locals (Lurideth?) or frequent vistors are welcome.

I'm going to Vegas in September to watch the Kings vs. Avalanche. 🤘

I have family that lives there. Last time I was there I scouted out a few great record/CD stores that weren't that far from the strip.

Have you ever seen the movie "Very Bad Things" by any chance? I suggest that you rent it before your Vegas trip. Think of it as an instructional video of what NOT to do in Vegas. Laughing

Great movie!! Unfortunately, I watched that movie with my wife years ago, before my Bachelor Party in Vegas. She kept asking me "That stuff doesn't really go on, does it?"

And yea, Lurideath, help a brother out. You're a Vegas native!!

My wife is still traumatized by that movie to this day. I doubt she'll ever let me set foot in Vegas simply because of what went on in that movie Laughing

MG, I found a really cool cd shop, and if I can remember the name I will let you know. I do know there is more than one of them in Vegas. Also get a In and Out Burger. Ruling.

A google search turned up 2 possible places. Big B's and Zia Records. Is it either one of them? And yes, I've had an In and Out burger when I was visiting in LA. DEEEEEEE-LICIOUS!!

Never actually been to Zia's but people I know swear by it and it usually wins best CD shop in the local Vegas paper.

Big B's is closed. I used to hit that place often. They would have 2-for-1 and 50% off sales every few months. The owners sold and the new people killed the place quickly. Last time I went there I was the only customer (and bought nothing), where as before the place was always packed. It was right next to UNLV so it would have been a nice walk from the strip. They had an awesome and cheap vinyl section too. I miss going there.

Sorry man, I hardly ever look at this section of the board. I am always in the Metal section.

Anyways, if you are looking for something to do on a Friday night, Avenger of Blood is playing a place called The Dive Bar which is located on Tropicana and McLeod. Not a huge club, but its a cool place to see shows. Along with us playing is also Head On Collision from St, Louis, MO and Spun In Darkness (local Vegas band) featuring former members of Goatlord and Doom Snake Cult.

There are 2 Zia locations here now. One is on Eastern and Flamingo, the other is on Sahara and Jones? (I think) Well its on Sahara, I know that much.

For food, yeah I'd definitely hit In N Out burger. Awesome place!

That would be awesome, but we don't get into Vegas till around 8:00 Friday night, and then we gotta check in to our hotel (MGM Grand) but who knows! It's the town that never sleeps, right?

Well the show don't start until 10:30. All shows in the Vegas clubs start at 10:30. You have plenty of time!

Sorry I missed ya, dude. Unfortunately with 9 guys, it wasn't easy making decisions getting anywhere, and with only 2 of said 9 being into metal (me and my buddy John), the idea of going to see a thrash band on the 1st night we're in town was shot down pretty quick. I did manage to make a trek to Zia Record Exchange and pick up some cd's, so the trip was wasn't a total bust. And speaking of busts, we were at Glitter Gulch and this stripper had the biggest set of.............ahhh, nevermind.
