| I'm nearing the 1000 mark with my vinyl collection and I have been on about a two year binge of vinyl buying with little to no new cd's except when necessary. I have been meandering back into the cd waters lately though... Vinyl is more fun to collect for me, but I don't necessarily prefer one medium over the other. They both have their pros and cons. | |

| I used to have close 800 vinyl albums, and when I started buying CD's, if I replaced a vinyl copy with the CD I usually just gave the LP away, now part of me regrets doing this, but I prefer CD's. Plus in my teens and 20's I moved around so much I got tired of lugging those records around. | |

| I don't know how many I have. I'll have to count them. Most of my collection is listed on page 1 of this thread.
I like both CDs and vinyl. There's something "special" about collecting vinyl though. Nostalgia perhaps. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I "really" wanted to buy Witchcraft's The Alchemist on vinyl today (I have the CD, but the album was recorded entirely in analog so the vinyl would be the way to go)...however, it's an import and $24.99 for an album I already own was just too much. |

| A friend from church game me a big box of vinyl that he didn't want. Unfortunately they were stored upright in a hot garage for years. Many of the records are completely ruined because they are warped. An entire Iron Maiden collection is warped very bad. I also saw Rob Rock's M.A.R.S. project in the box, but it too was wasted. (Anyone know some way to flatten out a record?)
However, a few were still in good shape with only a slight warp or no warp at all.
Here's a few I pulled out that seem to be in good, playable condition: Metallica - Garage Days Re-Visited $5.98 EP Judas Priest - Ram It Down MSG - One Night At Budakon W.A.S.P. - Headless Children YES - 90125 YES - Big Generator Cinderella - Long Cold Winter
I'll post more as I go through the box and see what's salvageable. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Stories like this always break my heart Started going through the box. Found a few more that are ok. LED ZEPPELIN - II a little warped, but plays ok and is in otherwise good shape. JEFF BECK - Blow By Blow -almost perfect. Only a very slight warp that I couldn't see until I put the wax on the turntableJOE SATRIANI - Not of this Earth still had the shrink wrap on it. Near perfect.SKID ROW - s/t (near mint shape /w lyrics sleeve) _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!
