Anyway, STYX freakin' rules!! Tons of killer songs, but Tommy Shaw's vocal turns are all my faves. "Too Much Time On My Hands", "Renegade", "Crystal Ball", to name a few. He & DeYoung harmonize perfectly! Any STYX fans? |

| I love Styx. In fact, that was my nickname in college. The lost me around Paradise Theater though. I made the mistake of seeing them on the Kilroy Was Here tour. What a debacle! They started the show with video about Kilroy that ran for about 20 minutes. The crowd was actually booing by the time the band took the stage. But early Styx is great! Especially the trio of Equinox, Crystal Ball and Grand Illusion. Pieces of Eight is almost as good as those three. If the only songs you know by Styx are Babe, Too Much Time On My Hands or Mr. Roboto, you need to check out Equinox and Crystal Ball. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I first got into them around 1978 with Pieces Of 8 and Grand Illusion. Everybody seems to be on a nostalgia trip with Mr. Roboto but that is right about where I stopped buying their music. Fast-forward to now, and Ive started getting into their old stuff from the early to mid 70's lately. As far as newer stuff, I'm not into any of it at all, gimme 70's and early 80's Styx. | |

| You hard rockers will want to pick up the first four albums-on two CD's (now packaged together and perhaps even available at Wal-Mart, that's where I got mine) under the title "STYX- The Wooden Nickle Years". Some good stuff you never heard on the radio there! | |

| Dennis was the "weenie" of the band. I generally didn't like the songs he wrote. But the James Young compositions always rocked and I liked Tommy Shaw's compositions. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Renegade helped start my descent into hard rock and metal. They had a great run up to Kilroy and even that has a few decent songs. The old stuff is classic for a reason. |

Clever. And from Kilroy on, I would agree. But early Styx rocks in my book! I don't know how anyone could dis an album like Equinox... Unless you only listen to cookie monster or death screamo bands... _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Unless you only listen to cookie monster or death screamo bands... Honestly, I don't have much of an opinion on Styx. I only know a handful of their "hits". I just wanted a reason to write Styx stynx | |

I just wanted a reason to write Styx stynx That's what I thought. Seriously, early Styx is worth checking out. Especially stuff like Equinox, Crystal Ball and the great but waaaaay overplayed Grand Illusion. A really good early album is Serpent Is Rising which features the Halelluhah Chorus. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
