| Angra is a progressive metal/power metal band. They currently have 6 full length albums and a few demos. This whole band is filled with talent. Especially with that Bassist Felipe Andreoli insane stuff.. | |

| I like them alot, I think the first one is my favorate. The original Freedom Call in my opinion, I was amazed how much Andre Matos sounds like Chris Bay when I first heard them. | |

| I would never call them progressive at all. But they are good. |

| I'd say they're a tiny bit progressive, with songs like "Carolina IV" (which by the way, is one of the greatest songs in existence). I love the first two albums, especially Holy Land, but things are a tad hit and miss afterwards. Still good though. _________________ | |

| What a coincidence that I'm listening to Temple Of Shadows this minute!
What I have from Angra is great. I liken them to a modern day Queen in this respect (and I'm sure many will disagree....remember it's my opinion only):
While they are not my favorite band nor the "best" I think they are the most talented overall. I'm amazed at their skill. I've always thought that about Queen. Not my favorite, but the most talented.

As ALWAYS sir, you are totally off-base! OK, i've never heard the band. You're probably right, like always. |

| The first time I heard this band was when they did Judas Priest's "Painkiller" on Century Media's Judas Priest tribute years back. The singer's heavily accented English all but killed the song for me. To this day, even when I listen to the original version, I hear the Angra guy going: "Fasta dan a boo-let, terrifyin scream Enraged an fool of anga, he's harf man and harf machine Like a metal monsta, breeding smoke and fi-yah Closing een wees wengeance soaring HIIIIIIIIGH He ees da pain-kee-lah Thees ees da pain-kee-lah!" _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Man, as long as it's an attempt at English, part of what I like about Euro and South American metal is the accent. I think it adds something, especially in the war, swords and troll types. Sabaton without the accent? Perish the thought! | |

| Discussions of accents always leads me to Beautiful Sin and the song "This Is Not The Original Dream". Every "th" in that song is pronounced like a hard "D". But the band that butchers English the worst is Twilightning. Most of the time, their lyrics don't even make sense. But the funniest one is from Plague House Puppet Show (talk about not making sense). They try to use the phrase "evil fiend" but pronounce the "ie" in "fiend" like the "ie" in "friend"; "eveeeel fend". _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Angra's cover of "Painkiller" is weak. I love Andre Matos, but his vocals and generally the way they do the song just doesn't work for me. Death's cover is far better. _________________ | |

| Angra is an aesome ban. And as much as I love the albums with Andre Matos, I like the current band all the better. _________________ | |

| I like their stuff with Eduardo Falaschi on vocals WAY better than with Andre Matos. Matos sounds like such a whiner on some of those early tracks. Also, Felipe Andreoli is a fine bass player. One of the best in my opinion.
Best cd ever: Temple Of Shadows

| I liked rebirth the best of their material with their debut coming in second. Heroes of Sand is probably their best song imho... as for Matos - his new solo effort kicks! It really has the catchy songs and speed I have thought showcases his talents.. Alex _________________ | |

| I have Temple Of Shadows (CD/DVD) and I have liked it the few times I've listened to it. I was supposed to listen to it on last Tuesday at work but I forgot my MP3 player but will give it another try (along with the other songs in the playlist) Tuesday. I think that their album artwork really kickes arse! | |
