You never know where you'll trip on stuff...I've spent a half hour trying to nail a seemingly simply harmony...I just couldn't "find" it at the time...

1. I agree with Shawn. Sometimes the most simple riff can cause you to look like a complete moron.

Its like a Phoenix Reign practice haha. Sad thing is, that stuff happens with songs weve played for years lol

I read the Guitar World article on his decision to move over to Randall, I guess it had to a lot to do with Scott Ian. Scott had mentioned that he been playing through the amp's (though I don't know if he totally made the switch), and Kirk liked what he heard, and there you have it.

They had a nice retrospective of the 25th Anny of "Kill 'Em All" in the mag as well.

He didn't even give a demo. I wouldn't have bought this amp if he was the salesman.

He's human, just like all of us.

Still a good guitarist.

He seems to get worse every time i see him.

Guitarists do have off days and the simplest riff can trip someone up.
I've always thought that Kirk Hammett has been getting worse over the years.
I always thought the stuff on the first 4-5 albums were awesome, but after that, it all went to pot.
And live... every performance i've seen of him lately has been dreadful.
His vibrato and improv is much to be desired.
Those are just my thoughts...

Maybe he lost his fire once he "made it" big. He's been recycling boring wah pedal solos since the Black album.

he just doesn't seem to be trying any more...
i hope he gets his act together for the new album, but i'm not holding my breath

If you ask me, he's the only one that IS trying in Metallica.

This is what happens when you write stuff IN the studio. James is a true riff monster, but being in the studio and writing is not the best way to write things.

And Kirk has been recycling wah pedal solo's to me since Master of Puppets.

I still think these guys should stop already.
