Favorite Old School Metal Singer

Who's your favorite old school metal singer?

Woo... tough one to pick because just about everybody on that list is represented in my CD collection... but I'd have to go with Dio, because Dio rules. It could've just as easily been Halford or Dickinson, though

there is only one choice...

Halford and Dio would top my list. I voted for Dio. Lemmy, Dickinson and Rob Rock are favorites too. Shoot, all the guys on that list are great.

Based on peak powers...Dio - with a strong nod to Rob Rock, whose body of work is becoming simply amazing. Dickenson is a sentimental favorite, but I have to admit that he often sounds slightly strained when trying to hit certain notes. Ripper Owens might be higher on this list 10 years from now.

Voted for Halford. Several on that list are excellent, though.

I have to go with Dickinson and Dio.

Went with Halford. Back in my misspent youth, he was my introduction to Metal, with Dickinson and Ozzy runners up.

A really tough one, they are all great!
Had to pick one, so i voted Eric Adams! Don`t love all Manowar albums, but his vocals always does it for me!!

All these guys are amazing, but there can only be one... HALFORD. *If* I was to have any ability to sing whatsoever, I'd love to have his amazing voice.

Dio would be a close second out of that line up thoguh.

The dude in Fates Warning (early stuff) is good

I hate to say Rob Halford cuz he had the most votes but I always loved his power and range, he was born to sing, not just front a band but really sing(see Victim Of Changes, Beyond the realms of death)

plus he's all metal, arguably from the best metal band ever.
