...The greatest bad sci-fi movie EVER made. Here's the trailer for "StarCrash," a 1979 Italian-made ripoff of "Star Wars" that simply has to be seen to be believed. I saw this movie on Saturday afternoon TV one time when I was about fifteen years old and it's haunted my dreams ever since. When I came across this trailer on good ole YouTube, I laughed so hard I nearly fell outta my chair and simply HAD to share.

One more testament to the awesomeness that is "Star Crash." The guy fighting off a robot with a light saber is none other than DAVID HASSELHOFF of future "Knight Rider" and "Baywatch" fame... seriously, look it up on IMDB, it's really him. That guy could rock one hell of a white boy Afro back in the day!!

I am almost tempted to say that I've seen that...

...but I'm not 100% sure. It sure seems like one of those late 70's / early 80's goofballs that my dad and I used to watch all the time on the weekends when I was a kid!

OK, shifting gears to something slightly better... here's the trailer to Roger Corman's classic "Star Wars/Seven Samurai" mish-mash, "Battle Beyond The Stars"... it may not have been the greatest movie ever, but it's "Citizen Kane" when compared to "StarCrash"... and what a great cast!!

Here's another oldie but not-so-goody... the sci-fi comedy "Ice Pirates," featuring Robert Urich... legend has it that this was originally written as a straight space adventure but the script was so bad that they re-wrote it and turned it into a comedy ...

I watched "Mutant" a couple of times and then unloaded it at a yard sale last Spring... I may have only paid a buck for it at the dollar store, but my wife priced all of our DVDs at TWO dollars apiece so I even made a profit! Smile
