Neither did Soldier, until a couple of years ago. It is one band that you should seriously check into. I am not being biased - most metalheads that have heard thier stuff will tell you what a terrific and groundbreaking band the were/are. And just a side note - in the early 80's, they were just as popular worldwide as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest (except here in the states), so that should tell ya something right there! What would be a good starting place or is there a best of or live album you would reccomend?

| Depends on your favorite style: NWOBHM, late 80's metal (a little more commercial and polished), or the 90's-present Power metal style. The Eagle has Landed I, II, or III would cover those three. As far as comps, there are a ton, but mainly consist of of the 80's material. Then, of course, there is "Heavy Metal Thunder". where they went and re-recorded all thier classics with thier "modern" sound, and added a live show from Texas 2002. Hell, it really doesn't matter. Find the cheapest one and start there! |

Since I like all three styles, I guess I can't go wrong either way.

You need to get Ghost in the Ruins - A tribute to Criss Oliva. It can be had pretty cheap on ebay. |

| It took until the third page for someone to mention Savatage's Ghost in the Ruins? Where's Kmorg when you need him! By far, my favourite live album. Iced Earth's Alive In Athens probably comes second. I'm generally not huge on live albums. _________________ | |

I think two or three of the tracks are from that gig. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| KISS Alive! all the way!
"Do you feel alriiiiiggghhhtt?!" (*BAAAAAHHHMM) *flames
It's forever engraved in my mind. That segment of "100,000 Years" is the greatest live album moment of all time, IMO. I can't imagine how special it must be to you KISS fans who were around at the time. I envy you guys so much. The landmark albums of your childgood were timeless rock'n'roll classics. The landmark albums of my childhood were Britney Spears, N'Sync, and Spice Girl albums. Not quite the same... |

| I'm not big into live albums, I usually pass on'em. I'd rather buy a concert DVD than a live album, but here's a few of my faves...
AC/DC - Live Motley Crue - Live: Entertainment or Death KISS - Alive Halford - Live Insurrection Megadeth - That One Night: Live in Buenos Aires Whitesnake - Live In the Shadow of the Blues

Believe it or not, I'm not totally crazy about that album. It's good, but I don't love it like so many other JLL fans. |
