| I don't know if anyone has posted on this yet, and it's also kinda NOT about metal but in ways is EVERYTHING metal, but two months ago in Game Informer they did a cover story on a video game coming out next year called Brutal Legend. This game is about a heavy metal roadie who, while tuning guitars before a concert one day, gets some blood into his magical belt buckle and ends up being taken to a huge heavy metal fantasy land. Jack Black will voice the main guy (who's name escapes me right now), with Lemmy, Dio, Halford, and many more metal musicians lending their voices and songs as well as making NEW songs just for the game. It'll be on Xbox 360 and PS3...maybe PC too I don't know. The whole game is about your guy stopping the evil Mr. Lionwhyte (Halford) from taking over the metal world. Lemmy ends up being one of your main friends in the game. You have an axe (both kinds ), a motorcycle, and your guitar solos can actually melt the bad guys' faces OFF. Now you tell me how awesome that sounds. Check it out if you don't believe me. It's made by the same studio that did the underappreciated Psychonauts. Any questions? Just ask and I'll go check in the magazine to find out more info since it's been a while since I read that story. It looks like any heavy metaller's dream in game form. Seriously it looks super fun. And it'll be open world so you can go anywhere you want, and while you fight bad guys you'll build up fans across the game world. Umm, yeah. METAL | |

| Look, dont get me wrong, I really hate to sound tr00 kvlt oldfart conservative, but roadies with magical belt buckles and pointy ears wandering into a magic heavy metal fantasy land killing enemies with guitar solos is about the most ultimate homo image I can imagine... Anyhow, I thought the Guitar Hero travesty is the absolute idiocy the gaming industry can come with, but seems I may be wrong... | |

| Eh, maybe you just aren't into good games then. No really this one isn't going to be some crappy rush job. It's supposed to be a high profile title! It REALLY does look really good! And he doesn't have pointy ears. | |

To be fair, I'm no video game guy. My last video game that I owned was a hand held Zaxon (or something like that) in the early to mid 80's. My Geekdom cropped up in other ways, though. I used the scores earned during the games to come up with Passing and TD stats for an imaginary Quarterback. Sports Geek alert!!

Yeah, I admit I'm proudly stuck in the 80s when it comes to games and still own a C=64 and SEGA Genesis, haha! Seriously, I really dont like the direction the gaming industry is going. I mean all new super-duper 3D realistic games, which all are based on old DOOM 2 "run around and kill them all" gameplay doesnt do anything for me after initial 2 minute play. Recently I was browsing Fry's and saw a SPACE INVADERS 3D remake... who would want to play this ancient game in 3D graphics is beyond me, but hey, what do I know. For me, the best game ever is probably Heroes of Might and Magic 2, or old Lucasarts titles like Monkey Island or the Day of the Tentacles - now that's cool graphics and inteligent gameplay.

| I'm not into video games much, but my kids are. I was watching them play Guitar Hero over the holiday weekend. They were having fun playing it and I was enjoying the fact that they were listening to decent music, instead of the crap they usually listen to. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Never thought I'd see the day that Diamond Head is being used to market a video game I love Tim Schaefer's games, so even if this wasn't a tribute to metal I'd still buy it, so it's that much cooler that it is a tribute to metal created by Tim Schaefer | |

| Haha...I knew black was going to do voices but Lemmy?..Lita Ford?!?...Rob Halford?!??....thats awesome! This game is going to attract a whole slew of dumbass kids who know nothing about metal, but I still might get this. | |

I've already seen on some video game-related sites self-appointed arbiters of metal complaining about Black Sabbath and Judas Priest being on the soundtrack because "they're not real metal"

| It's been announced that Dio is no longer involved with the game and that his part is being redone by Tim Curry. I can't help wondering if this has something to do with the recent hyping of Ozzy's presence in the voice cast? | |

| I'm not a gamer and I can't even begin to wrap my head around the ridiculous concept of this game, but I gotta say, that's one killer soundtrack. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
