Flotsam live

I'm going to see Flotsam in L.A. today. I'm hoping they will debut some new songs at the show and i hear they finally have some new shirts for sale so i can update.

That's cool. I've never seen these guys live. They sorta slipped past me back in their hey-day and only in last few years I've finally caught up with their past catalog of music. Have a great time.

Enjoy the show. I only saw'em once years ago (opening for Mercyful Fate on MF's IN THE SHADOWS tour) but they were a pretty decent live band back then.
The highlight was the end of F&J's set when King Diamond and the Fate guys came out on stage and King told everyone it was F&J's last night on the tour, how they were such great guys and great tourmates, and then hung around for a cover of Sabbath's "Fairies Wear Boots."

Just saw the show at the Whisky in Hollywood and i'm pretty disappointed. First i had to wait through 4 lame bands that had no place opening for a band like Flotsam and then when they finally went on the set was cut short because of all the opening bands. We got like 6 songs and they weren't even the ones i was hoping for.

Bummer. Is Erik AK still the lead singer? He quit the band, them came back but didn't want to tour, if I remember correctly. Of the short set list, was it old, new or a mix of both?

Eric A.K. is still the singer thank God. He was the best part of the show and he always gives a good performance even when he's drunk. The set list was more early and mid career songs like: Me, Escape from Within, Smoked Out, Hard on You, Hammer Head and The Master Sleeps. Those are all good songs but since i found out all the members live in different parts of the country they don't get together to practice so they play the same songs a lot.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that Lips from Anvil came all the way from Canada that night to see the show and the band gave him a shout out from the stage.

I was at least hoping to hear I Live You Die close the set like they used to do in the old days but i haven't heard them play that song since their Unnatural Selection tour!

I realized that this is an old thread but..
I saw F&J open for Armored Saint and Death Angel a few years back (2005?)
and they were great. They played more songs as an opening act than they did as a headliner when you saw them ( 8 ) The whole show just smoked !! AS & DA killed it also . One my top 10 all time shows easy and I've seen many .It was at the whiskey also BTW.
