"Top-10" Metallica solo's?

Sorry, I just can't stop wanting other people's opinion on Metallica (Being the huge fan, that I am)

Give a list of your top-ten, and other comments you think is worth typing.

Tough one to do at 2am. Haha. I'll try and think of 10:

1. One (all of them)
2. The Unforgiven
3. Escape (the hardest solo I ever tried to learn)
4. Orion (the slow solo in the middle—awesome!)
5. Harvester Of Sorrow
6. The Frayed Ends Of Sanity (all of them)
7. My Friend Of Misery

And I can't think of anymore, but I will say that every solo on St. Anger is killer!

I really love the soulful solos, like in "The Unforgiven" and "Orion" and "My Friend Of Misery." Those kinds of solos are my favorite. Still, the greatest solo ever recorded is Skolnick's solo in "Return To Serenity." That build-up and solo literally brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. It's frickin' amazing!

i'm not a big solo fan. i like solos, but don't really keep track of faves. be it Metallica or anyone else.

Yes, the more soul-full ones are freaking beautiful, and just amazing! I mean, maybe it;s not the most technically challenging, but that's one of the least important things, to a great solo. Yes, the "Return to Serenity" is amazing, I agree.

I don't know their solos well enough to rank them. But I suspect that "One" would top my list too. That nearly 3 minute long metal-fest at the end of that song is just unbelievable.

I think the guitar solo in Shortest Straw is the most wild and complicated Metallica guitar solo I've ever heard.

Granted, I stopped keeping up with Metallia after their disappointing Black album by Bon Jovi's producer (though in retrospect it's not that bad contrasted to what little I've since heard from them), so they may very well have included some solos on subsequent albums that rivaled that Justice track, but I doubt it.

The solo in Four Horseman. Holy crap, that solo just rips!

The Shortest Straw's solo is pretty awesome ! It's the first one to come to mind for me. After that , . I can't really think of anything (they're all pretty good !)

Metallica solos never get very much my attention, I think Megadeth solos are a lot better....
