| Someone brought this topic up on another board I frequent... ever seen 2 albums by two different bands/artists that have the same cover art? Here are two examples: Morbid Angel's BLESSED ARE THE SICK And Hexenhaus' A TRIBUTE TO INSANITY Revenant's PROPHECIES OF A DYING WORLD And Robert Plant's 29 PALMS (CD Single) On a side note, my brother was good friends with the Revenant guys (they were from Jersey) and their album came out a year or two prior to the Plant CD... they thought it was rather funny that Plant used the same photo. What are the odds that an obscure death/thrash metal band that only released one album would ever have something in common with the mighty Robert Plant, eh? Any other examples of this strange phenomenon out there?? _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Nevermore - In Memory EP Funeral - Tragedies + Tristesse re-release And I'm sure there is at least another band that have used this cover, but I can't recall their name now. |

| On a somewhat related note, does anyone remember an obscure NWOBHM band called Blade Runner? The cover art for their debut album (titled Hunted) was going to be used for a Savage album, but in it's unfinished version, logos were switched and Blade Runner got it instead. | |

Yea, they were! My bro was (and still is) good friends with Henry "Veg" Veggian (guitar/vocalist). Last I heard Veg is married and living in North Carolina someplace. Back in the day, Revenant were like the "go-to" local opening band whenever a national thrash act stopped in Jersey to play, saw 'em a bunch of times. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Here's two for you also, Geasa - Angel's Cry (Season of Mist 1999) At Vance - Only Human (AFM 2002) It was drawn for Geasa but since they could not afford the piece outright, Luis Royo kept the art and was free to use it elsewhere. . |

| Limp, an alternative/pop/punk band released their album Guitarded back in 1999. Leslie West released his own Guitarded in 2011. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | The Morbid Angel/Hexenhaus doesn't REALLY count because it's not original album art - it's a 17th century painting by Jean Delville. Here's another one: Nightwish - Once Evanescence EP It's actually a sculpture in Rome. | |

| troglodyte dawn used the same image on his debut as Atomic Rooster.
The cover that was supposed to be used for the pre-Kiss band, Wicked Lester, was eventually used by a punk band, which name escapes me at the moment. _________________

It's taken from this William Blake painting of Nebuchadnezzar II... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebuchadnezzar_(Blake) _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebuchadnezzar_(Blake) This same pic is also the inner-tray artwork (under the CD) in Bruce Dickinson's Chemical Wedding. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Yeah, the entire Chemical Wedding album was inspired by the works of William Blake. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Isn't "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" written around some Blake poem? _________________ | |

It's based on a poem but not by Blake. "Rime" was written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

It's based on a poem but not by Blake. "Rime" was written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. And the Maiden song was written by Harris, not Dickinson.
