R.I.P. Jack Russell of Great White

Former Great White vocalist Jack Russell has passed away at the age of 63. He had only recently announced his retirement from touring due to various health problems.

The news of Jack's passing comes less than a month after he announced that he was retiring from touring following a diagnosis of Lewy body dementia.

Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of neurodegenerative dementia after Alzheimer's disease.

That's sad to hear. He was a great vocalist.

Very sad… he had a great voice back in the day. Some really great songs also.

Yeah, only a month or so ago. Guess they'll have to rush out a newly updated edition.

Related note: just in case you need to update your Great White score card, the band formerly known as Jack Russell's Great White have already re-branded as "Once Bitten," and their new singer is... Terry Ilous, who was the first guy to replace Jack in the "real" Great White in the early 2010s. Geez, it's like Great White Inception ... layers upon layers...  



The "real" Great White, anchored by founding guitarist Mark Kendall, continues to tour with current frontman Brett Carlisle.

R.I.P. He was a great vocalist.

He was such a great vocalist. It's sad that Jack had a short lived retirement.
