The other day I watched the Family Guy episode "The Juice is Loose".
Hilarious episode about Peter getting to meet O.J. Simpson. Many jokes about the O.J. murder trial.

Blood Predator (2007)
Stupid movie about plane crash survivors making their way to remote cabin that is housing a bloodthirsty alien creature. Poor effects, poor acting, and only an hour and a half long and feels much longer. Not worth the time.

A few westerns out of a 50 title set, then it was "Patriot Games" and "Air Force One".
The Unicorn just barely popped it's head out of the magical forest and the puppy dog got ran over on the highway. I think maybe it's tail was wagging? if you are gonna spend millions on a movie, pay the writers to at least make it realistic. Man, those old westerns were so much better than those Harrison Ford flics.

Night Creatures (1962)
AKA Captain Clegg, in 1792, a British seas captain and his sailors arrive in a small hamlet to investigate reports of the town smuggling alcohol. What he discovers is more than he bargained for, with rumors of "Marsh Phantoms" and a rather suspicious vicar (Peter Cushing), who seems to know more about what's going on the he's letting on. Entertaining Hammer film that co stars a young Oliver Reed.

American Ninja (1985)
An amnesiac U.S. soldier (Michael Dudikoff), stationed in the Philippines, gets caught up in a plot conceived by a black market arms dealer, who has an army of ninjas, led by the Black Star Ninja, as his enforcers. Fortunately, the soldier is also trained in the art of ninjitsu and attempts to stop the plans of the dealer, leading to an inevitable clash between the top alpha ninjas. Mindless fun that I used to watch every chance I got. This Cannon film led to quite a few sequels and was part of the martial arts craze of the 80s, probably mostly done by Cannon.

It Comes At Night (2017)
A rather boring movie about a mysterious sickness that has infected the world, and 2 separate families that end up sharing a secluded house together. A rather tenuous situation begins to emerge and soon the danger may be from inside instead of out. I kept waiting for something to really happen in this film but nothing occurs until the last 20 minutes or so. Reminds me of one of the more boring episodes of The Walking Dead.

"Beerfest" (2006)
To avenge their family's honor, two American brothers form an all-star drinking team to compete in "Beerfest," a secret drinking competition held in Munich during Oktoberfest. A very raunchy but extremely funny comedy from the Broken Lizard troupe that will make you feel very thirsty.
"Malibu's Most Wanted" (2003)
"B-Rad," a dorky white wanna-be rapper (Jamie Kennedy) from a wealthy Malibu family is an embarrassment to his father, who's running for governor of California. Dad's campaign team comes up with a unique plan to "scare the black out of him" by dropping him in South Central to meet real gangstas, but things don't turn out as planned. A likeable but dumb as rocks comedy that squeezes maximum mileage out of its one-joke premise.

"Back to School" (1986)
In an attempt to re-connect with his estranged son (Keith Gordon of "Christine"), a well meaning but uncouth businessman (Rodney Dangerfield) enrolls at the same college his kid attends, and turns everyone's campus life upside down. A fun college comedy that fits Rodney's "slobs versus snobs" persona perfectly. Watch for the late great Sam Kinison in a small role as a crazed professor ("SAYYYY IIIIIIIT!") and a young Robert Downey Jr. as Gordon's new-wave roommate.
"Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man" (1976)
Two Italian cops (Ray Lovelock and Marc Porel) are part of a secret "special squad" within the city's police dept. which allows them to fight crime using as much force as they want. Their quest to stop a powerful gangster leads to plenty of gunplay, car chases and crashes, and beat downs. The poorly dubbed English dialog is pure gibberish, so the whole thing doesn't make much sense, but the action scenes and stunt work are top notch. Basically it's like a feature length, ultra violent episode of "Starsky and Hutch."

Hobo With A Shotgun (2011)
Rutger Hauer stars as a homeless man that arrives in a town hoping ti get a new start, but finds the town is in urban decay and under the thumb of a crime boss and his 2 sadistic sons, with no help from the corrupt police. Pushed too far when caught up in a pawn shop robbery, he grabs a shotgun off the shelf and metes out brutal punishment. From there he starts a one man crusade against the injustices committed throughout the town, becoming media sensation. However, the crime boss doesn't take too kindly to this and offers a reward for the hobo's death, causing open season on all homeless people. Based on the fake trailer from the Grindhouse movie, this one is campy with over the top violence and dialogue, although Hauer comes across as the professional he was. Fun little movie.

The retro-rerun channel "Catchy Comedy" has been running a marathon of classic Looney Tunes cartoons all weekend so I've been watching that in bits and pieces. Watched some 'toons that I haven't seen in a VERY long time, like "Rabbit of Seville," "Duck Dodgers in the 24th and 1/2 Century," "Duck! Rabbit, Duck!" "Feed the Kitty," "What's Opera, Doc?" and many more.
Oh, the memories! Cartoons did not get better than this.

Mute Witness (1995)
A mute make-up artist working on a slasher film in Moscow, is accidentally locked in the studio overnight and witnesses a porn shoot that is actually a snuff film with a brutal murder. She then becomes the target of the crime organization behind the films. A very good film, with a cast of unknowns (mostly Russian actors), save for the "mystery guest star" (as he is credited) as the leader of the crime organization. How they got Alex Guineas to cameo in this film is beyond me.

Apocalypse Now Redux (1979)
Expanded version of Francis Ford Coppola's classic about an army special forces captain (Martin Sheen) sent on a classified mission to assassinate a rogue, insane colonel (Marlon Brando) firing the Vietnam war. Not much to say about this one that hasn't been already said. Excellent film (although this version is a wee bit too long) that I finally got t around to watching.
