I don't know. The crimes he was found guilty of happened long after his Saxon years.

I don't know about re-doing parts of something in that way. It's like editing OJ from The Naked Gun movies and replacing him with someone else. Everyone knows that's not how it was.

Besides, all Saxon fans have the old CDs already, and younger folk don't care enough about Saxon to even think of buying reissues. It just sounds like a way to milk the diehards. And maybe change Crusader to Soldier because it's insensitive to Palestinians. These things are in the past, they happened the way they happened.

FFS

(IMHDO) If the things Dawson did convict one to not listen to Saxon music he played on that is a personal choice that can be respected, but to want them to redo his bass parts so a few can "feel" better/OK about themselves for making that choice... that is just entitlement taken way too far.

Plus, he wouldn't get to make a penny off of any future album sales that way.

Even if they re-recorded those albums, all he would lose is the "mechanicals, which are the performance royalties for playing on those albums. If he wrote/co-wrote the tunes, he'd have publishing royalties. Unless of course, he sold those rights in the past? So if Saxon went in and re-recorded his bass lines and he still owned the Rights to his publishing, Dawson would more than likely make even more money than just leaving things alone. This due to the fact that more than just the "sensitive" folk would purchase the new product. Laughing very hard

Yeah, just leave it be. Don't give this guy the thought of day. He is serving his punishment, and as a society we should just be happy justice is served. Spare the cancel culture stuff for people who escaped justice.

Anyway, the new album is excellent. Brian Tatler is a good addition. Guitar sound is really good. Did he co-write songs, too? Annoying how the booklet doesn't have song writing credits. It does list which solos he plays, which is a nice touch.
