1. Tarot - Suffer Our Pleasures
Obvious number one for me. The highlight of the band's catalogue. Amazing traditional heavy metal record from Finland's original heavy metal icons.

2. Black Label Society - Blessed Hellride
The high point of BLS, imo. Zakk's got the riffs and the melodies, the heavy hitters and the ballads all down alright.

3. Rage - Soundchaser
A superb album from old school heroes. One of their best. And that's saying a lot from me. They could be the best band ever.

4. The Lord Weird Slough Feg - Traveller
Riffs everywhere. So catchy, and heavy.

5. Mystic Prophecy - Regressus
One of my favourite bands and this was the best album the band ever did with Gus G (they later went on to record even better CD's!

6. Iron Maiden - Dance of Death
I like new, progressive Maiden.

7. HIM - Love Metal
This is their best. And HIM got me so much ass back in the day in the Helsinki night club scene. All the chicks dig HIM. A nostalgic favourite.

8. Helloween - Rabbit Don't Come Easy
A great Deris-era Helloween record. You need power metal here on the list, it was another good year for European melodic metal.

9. Gun Barrel - Battle-Tested
A more recent discovery, but these guys kick ass. Beer drinking music. This has really won me over.

10. Circle II Circle - Watching in Silence
I'm a Savatage nut, so this one obviously belongs on the list. Zak's new band, and Caffery and Oliva wrote the songs.

A mass of other nostalgic and cool favourites vied for those last few spots, but they can stay there, bubbling under. A top 10 is a top 10.
