1. Annihilator - Carnival Diablos (I love Joe Comeau's vocals!)
2. Avantasia - The Metal Opera (the original, and still the best)
3. Sonata Arctica - Silence (one of the defining albums of Euro Power)
4. Gamma Ray - No World Order! (it was a good year for Power Metal)
5. Rage - Welcome to the Other Side (the first CD with the best Rage lineup)
6. Within Temptation - Mother Earth (their high point)
7. Savatage - Poets and Madmen (my favourite band of all-time)
8. Iced Earth - Horror Show (Jack, Dragon's Child, Wolf...)
9. Falconer - Falconer (I've only recently really gotten into Falconer. This is a gem.)
10. Twisted Tower Dire - The Isle of Hydra (their best album. Torchbearers of US Power)

I didn't want to put a cover album in the top 10, but I just want to point out how awesome Powergod's Bleed for the Gods - That's Metal, Lesson 1 is.

Forgot about that one.

Almost bought a German 2 disc version once, but it was more $ than I spend on any CD. Then realized after looking at mine later on. The only difference between the two versions is like one tune. Laughing very hard
