It was actually a pretty awesome year for metal. Some tough choices, with pretty big favourites that didn't make it. Like Axxis II and I'm a massive Axxis nut... Forbidden's Twisted into Form and Privilege of Power by Riot and Heartbreak Station by Cinderella. That 10th spot is always the hardest with a top 10 list.

The American Way by Sacred Reich! Souls of Black... Seasons in the Abyss... and I've been on a pretty big thrash kick lately. But you can't fit everything in, and Extreme deserves that 10th spot. It's just a damn good album I've lived with for long.

Remove Skid Row' s 1991 release and replace it with Cowboys From Hell by Pantera or Against The Law by Stryper, call them a tie?
