1. Heaven and Hell (1980)
Heaven and Hell is our first place winner.
Now you have to vote for your favourite of the remaining albums.

I chose Rising for second place. Almost went for Holy Diver. But Rising has better songs.

Two months ago I listened to Holy Diver in my car during lunch. Average volume. I was astounded just how good the recording was. Brought back some great memories too. I separated that cd from my other Dio CDs into another holder. Vivian Campbell. Would love to read his book on his take on things - if ever published.

Excellent record, and I am going to vote for it soon, too. I know it's part of the "classic Dio era", but it still feels a little underrated. It is absolutely one of the best heavy metal records I know.

Track Announcer "At the 3 furlong marker, it is "Holy Diver" by a length and a half over "Rising", with "Dream Evil" and "Last in Line" neck and neck to show"

Gotta go with Holy Diver.
Rainbow in the Dark is my favorite Dio song. I think it has the best keyboard riff ever.

Anti-chaos theory be damned There is high probability that me saying what I said influenced the voting? Out of spite or just for giggles n kicks?
So who actually introduced chaos?

Holy Diver's got 47% of the vote, and this should do it. It is now officially Heart of Metal's 2nd best Ronnie James Dio album.
We're going to move on.

So
Poll #1 runs from 8:27 am Saturday through1:19 am Wednesday (89+ hours) Poll #2 runs from same Wednesday 1:24 am through 10:41 am Friday (57+ hours)
Saying something is "official" in such a short time frame is odd. Especially when most who visit/post here do it once a week. The totally arbitrary length in voting time makes it even more odd. Oh well, it's s Lari's thang.

It was from Saturday to Tuesday, and then Tuesday to Friday. The first one ran a little long because it was so close.
Besides, I never established any rules about how long each poll is open. So it closes when I say it closes. Which is when I have a good enough moment to start up a follow-up poll.

Q: Did Lari post the poll on the HoM Board? A: Yes
Q: What was the date and time at top of initial post in thread for Poll 1? A: Sat Feb 12 8:27 am
Q: What was date and time on top of post that ended Poll 1? A: Wed Feb 16 1:19 am
Q: Was that 89+ hours? A: Yes
Q: What was the begining and ending times at the top of posts for Poll 2? A: Wed Feb 16 1:24 am & Fri Feb 18 10:41 am

Regardless of whatever time zone something is typed or read, the EXACT same time elapses between one post and another.

BTW, Poll 2 ways only a vote apart when you ended it. So how close does it have to be?

It was not only a vote apart. The first one was, when I originally looked at it.
