Not really a fan. I've only ever really liked Eliminated (at least all the releases/videos).

I chose "Tejas"
the most interesting drum patterns Beard ever put on tape are on this album. Of course, (IMHDO)

Gotta go with Eliminator. It was my first exposure to the band via the famous MTV videos, and pretty much every song is great. I also like the louder hard rock influenced guitar sound. My second choice is Fandango because it has “Tush” (Dusty on lead vocals).

The first ZZ Top album I got into was 'Eliminator' but I chose 'Fandango' but it could easily have been 'Tejas' or Deguello'

Haha, I don't own a single album. When I was a kid, I was a shoplifting fiend. I was good at it. Must have stolen at least a hundred cassette tapes. That all changed when I finally got busted. What was the tape that did me in? ZZ Top, Eliminator! Well, not only did my dad cure me of being a world class shoplifters after he heard about me getting caught, but it sort of soured all my interest in ZZ Top. Don't get me wrong, I still watched the videos, because let's face it, that was the closest thing most of us had to pornography back then. But I swore off ever buying their albums after that. Of course now that I'm older and supposedly wiser, it's a ridiculous rule, but I've never gotten around to buying their albums yet. I was lucky enough to see them a couple times live, and have always wanted to dive into their catalogue, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I will do that one of these days, but I'm skipping Eliminator until last lol

I've thought of that, but I think if I ever get to them, I'd just do what I normally do and start with the first couple albums and work my way up.

Awesome life story...
I'm 76', I went to trade some weed for a big subway sized KISS poster from the "Alive!" era. The guy had similar sized ZZ Top posters. I was familiar with some of their tunes from hanging out at the clubhouse with the old man. Dude let me borrow "Fandango", I was hooked

I purchased a 10 CD set of the first 10 studio albums in cardboard lp replica sleeves for about 35.00 bucks or so. First album through Recycler

I remember a cool rough dude at Jr. High school loved ZZ Top. I was KISS. This was when KISS ALIVE ll - hit the world. Our common ground was Ted Nugent….so we didn’t end up brawling. A real tough kid liked Jethro Tull back then. No one said a peep about that
