Let's celebrate NWOBHM!

So, I've been on a bit of a kick lately.

I still think I like Maiden & Saxon the best, but there's some 5 star albums right here, too:



Those are some of my CD's. What's your favourite album from this movement?

Oh, and Strong Arm of the Law is 40 years old this month!

Lots of great metal to come out of the UK man. Tokyo Blade and Tygers Of Pan Tang are among my favourites.

Not sure if you're familiar with Marshall Law, Lari. They're not exactly NWOBHM, but they are an excellent underrated British act. In my top 10 bands for sure.

The new Tokyo Blade, released earlier this year, is amazing.

Huge fan of this genre.. My favorites are Grim reaper, Savage, tygers of pan tang , Jaguar, whitchfinder General, Iron maiden, Tokyo Blade, Chariot, Saxon, demon, rage (uk), Bitches sin, Gaskin, Quartz, Def Leppard,Blitzkrieg, diamond head, Rock goddess, Girlschool

I don't have that one either. Not sure I've heard the album as a whole either, but I definitely remember that one song Let It Loose.

Demon 'Unexpected Guest' is probably my favorite NWOBHM album. You should check out the NWOBHM 79' revisited compilation if you haven't already. Its a great 2 disc comp that features many bands you have mentioned already but also other stand out tracks from the era.

I just listened to Samson's "Shock Tactics" on YouTube... does that count as celebrating NWOBHM?

Tytan is another great NWOBHM band. I own both of their studio albums on cd:

This thread reinvigorated my interest in the Metal for Muthas compilations and I never realized how much better the version of Sanctuary is on vol. 1 then it is on the album version. Badass.
