Guitar Heroes: Timo Tolkki vs Alexi Laiho

The Finland edition. Stratovarius vs Children of Bodom shredders.

Timo Tolkki.

I chose Alexi because I don’t know the other guy.

I went with Alexi.

I like Laiho better too, though he has no acoustic body of work. I like that he sticks to his guns though. Tolkki is more versatile and can play slow as well, but somehow his tone is too samey. Laiho does what he does better. He has become the standard in aggressive shred guitar.

Eh, I'm gonna skip this one. I don't listen to either.

Timo since I love Stratovarius and don't really know anything about the other dude.

Tolkki has better sense of melody and is the better composer of the two.

Tolki. Never listened to Children Of Bodom.

They have a couple of good albums. But in general, it's not my favourite style, to be honest.

We lost Alexi Laiho today.

I would have picked Tolkki to beat Laiho to the Great Beyond, as he is no picture of health himself, and Laiho was young and seemingly fit.

What was the cause of his death?

I chose Alexi, because I never liked anything by Stratovarius.
