Still my favorite Floyd album even though if you actually listen to the lyrics it's even more depressing than The Wall.  But it's amazing to me how an album that essentially consists of only 3 songs just flies by when you listen to it.  And how memorable songs of that length can still be.  Nightwish could learn something from this album; you can write very long songs that are still memorable. Even "Dogs" with that lengthy section where synth and dog barking morph into each other still has the memorable guitar underpinning.

Would you say "Dogs" is the longest studio track that you enjoy by any band? That might be an interesting thread topic.

I seldom listen to Pink Floyd these days but something made me want to revisit this album. "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" has always been a favorite of mine, and it was nice to hear that one again. And the flow of "Dogs," as you said, is really masterful.
