So, I grew up when the best of the best and all the debuts were debuting.  Still dig Killing is my Business, Feel the Fire, Spreading the Disease, etc, better than anything that came after.

No Place for Disgrace is a really good album!!!!!  But, I truly believe Newstead is/was a helluva better bassist and song writer than Gregory.  I think this sophomore release would have way more grit, if Jason was still in the band at this time.  But, the production values had increased astronomically between 86 n 88, as far as metal goes and the money put behind the genre, etc.

So, was not gonna make this a poll, but WTF?  Why Not.  Choose one over the other and tell me why.

Here's this, to go along with the whole thang, here.

I love both, but going with No Place For Disgrace! Jason still had some writing credits on No Place For Disgrace. No Place For Disgrace happened to be my first album I owned from Flotz (on cassette).

I went with "No Place" for 2 reasons: production and sentimentality. I think I am gonna go spin this one now!

No Place For Disgrace!

It’s one of my favorite albums, and AK’s vocals are the best! Although I like the re-recording they did, I wish they remastered the original instead.

The only problem with Doomsday is some of the songs are too long.

Title track alone makes Doomsday my pick. I love every song on that album, and there aren't many better debut albums out there far as I'm concerned.

It appears we are on an island so far, Wrecky.  Should I throw on "She Took an Axe"?  Ok.  Since you told me to....

Doomsday For The Deceiver, mainly on the strength of the title track and Metalshock.

I actually feel the two longest songs on Doomsday for the Deceiver (the title track and "Metalshock") are the best songs on the album.

They’re good songs for sure, but I normally don’t like really long intros. If a song is balanced, I’m fine with it. Most of the songs on AJFA for example are long but structured in a way I can handle. I also like most of the songs on Time Does Not Heal. I think the riffs make those albums more tolerable.

Can I vote for High? That was my intro to the band and quite frankly, I like those albums that came afterwards when Eric had more control of his vocals. I don't care for either of those early albums.
