Sounds like you got a much better deal. There is talk of some “stimulus” money from our government, but not as much as what you said. It pisses me off that my government takes so much in taxes, but gives very little back to the people!

First case confirmed here in Bay County. A 47 year old tourist.

225 cases in NC confirmed. None in my county or town as of yet.

First confirmed case in my town was announced yesterday.

Rumor has it that it was someone who worked in the high school cafeteria.

You know, something just hit me tonight.

We're all still getting our mail right?  After you go out and get yours, have you been washing/sanitizing your hands?  Yeah, me neither.  Yet every single person on your carrier's route touches their mailbox and the mail carrier touches every single mailbox those people touch.

Granted the odds of transmitting the corona virus that way are probably pretty slim,  but if you're one of those people mandated to stay home to avoid contact with the virus in hopes of stopping the spread of the virus, wouldn't it be a good idea to wash/sanitize your hands after you go get your mail?  I sure hope the mail carriers are doing that as they go from box to box but who knows?  Do you really want to chance it?

On the serious side: I hope and pray every day that I don't visit here and here bad news about any of you guys (or your loved ones) coming down with the virus, as this is my safe place, a little corner of the world to quote RJD. When I pour a glass red and sit here in the man cave amidst my treasures, while Maiden or Priest rings out loud and proud, and I type away about our faves or whatever, it takes me to another place, and I really love that place. And I love that you are all there with me.

OMG!  No cat litter would be a total disaster for me!  I just bought 3 more bags on Thursday and there was a ton of it on the shelves.  Don't tell me I need to start stocking up on that!!!!!  I'm pretty well set for the long haul on everything else but not litter!

Damn!  Going to the store tomorrow.  Sunday is my usual cleaning day and that always includes changing three cat boxes.  So I go through three bags of cat litter a week.  Know how many bags I keep on hand?  Three.  Dammit!

Toho StLouis isnt that far away and ive LONG thought of suggesting a meet up but never pulled the trigger to suggest. Maybe post-virus! I'll be so ready to do something. I'm utterly blessed to have a job that is secure but for now all vacation leave has been cancelled so when it's done I'll have time to burn.

Yeah that's pretty much the way I am too.  If I'm drinking liquor it's probably a "white one", vodka or gin.  The "dark ones" tend to make me sick as a dog even if I don't drink a lot.  But I much prefer BEER!  And I'm talking about CRAFT beer, not the swill readily available in grocery stores.  Fortunately I've got a LOT in my "beer cellar" in the basement but I've been making a serious dent in the supply in the last 2 weeks since we're not supposed to go anywhere. 

But I still seriously think I have enough beer to last 2 or 3 years unless for some awful reason I suddenly start consuming A LOT more.

I've now been working here 25 years so I have a BOATLOAD of vacation time every year.  There is a TON of stuff to do here in and around St. Louis. There's the Cardinals (of course), the Arch, the Botanical Gardens, the St. Louis Zoo, and now we have a new aquarium which even I haven't seen yet.

Or I could come to you.  What have you got going on down there?

So once this crap is over, we should meet up.

Similar story in my town. 1 confirmed case but they work at the town's hospital. Pretty much the last place you would want someone to be infected!

I'm hoping to be in St. Louis for KSHE Pig Roast festival on Sunday June 7, and may stay a few days after that. The festival (should it go forward) will Feature Jack Russell's Great White; Dokken; Skid Row; Lita Ford; Tom Keifer; Tesla; Ratt; and Alice Cooper. It's at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater, which I think is near the airport. I wouldn't mind checking out another part of the city if you have availability then Toho!

As far as I know, we don't have any cases in my town yet, and only about 30 in the whole state. People seem to be taking it seriously and taking proper precautions.

Toho- yeah I think st louis trumps Abilene unless you're dying to see a real rodeo. We're a real live cowboy town. What a shame it's taking the end of the world to have this conversation.
