Now that I think about it, I don't usually participate in Freddy's "Schlocktoberfest" moviethon. I watch that crap all the time anyway.
The one I ALWAYS participate in is the Holiday Horrorthon (or whatever he calls it). I have A TON of Christmas-oriented horror movies but I'm on the lookout for Thanksgiving ones so any recommendations are welcome.

"Dark Night of the Scarecrow" (1981)
A posse of small town yokels kill a local mentally-handicapped man, under the mistaken assumption that he harmed a little girl. The four men aren't found guilty of any crime, but then one by one they are picked off by a mysterious figure in a scarecrow outfit. A spooky little Halloween treat, originally made for TV in 1981, which has gone on to become a cult classic.
That was a really good flick. They just don't make those cool made for tv flicks anymore.

The only Thanksgiving themed horror I can think of off the top of my head is this one, which looks too stupid even for me:

Thanks for the tip FF!
After watching that trailer I was going to order that monstrosity if it was reasonably priced but guess what? It's FREE with Amazon Prime.
Guess what I'll be doing on Thanksgiving...

"Blood Rage" (1987)
"Home Sweet Home" (1981) - starring TV fitness guru Jake Steinfeld of "Body By Jake" fame!
"Pilgrim" (2019)

"Matinee" (1993)
In 1962 Florida, a producer of gimmicky low budget horror movies comes to town to premiere his latest creature feature ("MANT! Half Man, Half Ant!"). The kids can't wait to see the movie, while their parents are panicked by the ongoing Cuban Missile Crisis. John Goodman is great as the William Castle-esque schlock mogul in this fun period piece by Joe "Gremlins" Dante.

Back on the Schlock-Tober train, and man does this one ever qualify:
"Sleepaway Camp" (1983)
Foul mouthed Ricky and his strange, withdrawn cousin Angela arrive at Camp Arawak for the summer, but their fun is interrupted by a mysterious killer who starts picking off campers and counselors one by one. ...for most of its length, this cheap, cheesy slasher saga is little more than a generic, store-brand ripoff of "Friday the 13th," but it has developed a loyal cult following thanks to its infamous twist ending, which is still one of the most enduring "what the f*ck?" moments in horror film history. It's so bad, it's almost good. Followed by numerous sequels and at least one "reboot," none of which have been seen by me.

I love Sleepaway Camp. It's just as important to slasher film history as F13 and Halloween, and far more stylish than the former. The budget unfortunately imposed limitations to render the viscera effective but what's cool is the film does try to do things different than its ilk. The weird touches on sexuality and the backstory of the father, while far from fulfilling, is nuts (I know, that's a lot of puns for one sentence) and full of style. And yes that ending is downright memorable. It haunted me back then and it still makes me uncomfortable now. I'm not necessarily a slasher film fanboy, but I do firmly believe this one is a must-see for those who are.
You're in for a treat with the sequels, too. Nothing too great, but entertaining and full of kickass tunes from Obsession and, I believe, Shok Paris.

^^ I hadn't seen Sleepaway Camp in years, I was honestly never crazy about it back in the day but it was fun to revisit. (The god-awful acting! The hair styles! The skanky '80s chicks! Dudes in vintage Asia and Blue Oyster Cult concert tees!)
I still think it's pretty forgettable aside from the "big reveal" scene IMO, which totally freaked out my 13 year old, by the way, haha.
Yes, I watched Sleepaway Camp with my son. I am not sure if that makes me the worst parent ever, or the coolest.
Time will tell if we move on to the sequels...

Wow, I was trying to watch the Braves/Dodgers NLCS game and mistakenly thought it was on TBS (it's on Fox, the ALCS is on TBS). And I stumbled into "The Simpson Guy", the hour-long episode from 2013 that combines The Simpsons and Family Guy. I laughed my ass of for the whole hour! That thing is demented on so many levels...

"No. 1 of the Secret Service" (1977)
Suave British secret agent "Charles Bind" is assigned to find out who is murdering England's wealthiest financiers in this cheap, corny, hopelessly unfunny spoof of the James Bond series.
Nicky Henson seems to be having fun parodying Roger Moore's wink-wink version of Bond, but the TV sitcom-level production values and near-total lack of action made this an extremely tough slog.
Imagine if they'd tried to make an "Austin Powers" movie in the '70s but forgot to make it funny, and you're in the ballpark. AVOID.

Next on Fox
Last week during the debut of this show I kept thinking how similar the premise was to many aspects of one of my favorite sci-fi shows that got axed by Showtime before it could mature - Odyssey 5. That show ran for one season on Showtime back around 2002 or so but the whole basic premise of some weird, super-AI force taking over all human devices with a computer interface is shared by both shows.
Tonight I noticed why; both shows were created by the same person, Manny Coto. I'm still really digging the freaky concept of Next which reinforces my resolve to stay away from AI crap as much as possible but at least the nagging feeling that I've seen a lot of this before and a long time ago is explained.

The last thing I watched was the most recent episode of Jeopardy!, which had a very rare occurrence.
Only one contestant appeared in Final Jeopardy!, which is very rare and hadn't happened in five and a half years.

For some reason I have never seen Sleepaway Camp. I did a search on YouTube and someone uploaded a pretty good quality version of it so I am gonna check it out before the copyright police find it and take it down.
