Quite the haul.

I only ever heard Lonely Are the Brave and the Duke, back when I considered investing in his catalogue. I got neither in the end, though it was good quality. Really, in the style that I enjoy. The Duke of Love, great hooky song. Not sure why I DIDN'T take the plunge. The songs didn't quite stick, I guess, and also after years of hearing him on Avantasia his voice has started to wear on me. He is amazingly gifted though. That rock rasp is what I imagine I would want in a perfect song, if I ever were to write it.

But it could just be those two albums that didn't grab me immediately. How does the rest compare? I've not decided NOT to get into Jorn. I even heard my wife saying she likes his voice. To me that's as good as "yes please do buy every single physical copy you can find by this person and display them prominently everywhere in our house, honey".

I loved Jorn with Masterplan and Ark. I think his solo stuff is, as a whole, enjoyable but Starfire was pretty meh as a debut. Worldchanger is awesome as is Lonely and the Brave through Dio. I also think he is awesome at doing covers. He has a real gift for being faithful to the originals but giving them new life.

I am working on getting the remainder of his catalog but I would recommend his material.

Somehow I missed that "Honked All Over Again" release.  Downloaded it tonight. I have the other ones though.  Let me know what you think of "Recall Rock N Roll"; I like the songs but the production really sounds like crap to me; I find the thing unlistenable.

I'm listening to "Honked" and this sounds like old Diamond Dogs; like "Greens Turn To Browns" era and that's a good thing in my book.

thats because it is - Honked was originally released in 1994.

  I was wondering about the cover pic but you know how sometimes bands will put "retro" photos on albums.

Spinning it again tonight while I'm making dinner. This is my favorite era of Diamond Dogs; everything I love in my sleaze rock, guitars, honky-tonk piano, backing female vocals, harmonica and rough vocals. Great stuff!
