Pop-punk. A lot like the Ramones but a little more raw.
They're a Chicago-based band that's been around forever and I've been a fan of most of their albums. There have been a few "divergences" over the years but this one returns to the sound they're known for (hence the title if you look up what "atavism" means - I know I had to). Here's the lead track off this one:
