| Greetings fellows! I am open to any suggestions so if you please post a song or album title that you would play to convert (or scare) your friends. Metal made its sweet overtures to me at fourteen when my older brother played Pantera's - Far Beyond Driven and then cemented two years later when I bought my first Metal Album - Metallica's "Ride the Lightning". Fast forward eight years and my Metalhead co worker introduced me Mercyful Fate, Hammerfall, Nevermore, MANOWAR, Sworn Enemy, Iced Earth, Dio and a few more that I forgot (I listened to most of this stuff drunk but its effect was powerfull enough to change my listening habits for years to come). Currently im spinning MANOWAR's "Hell Earth" double CD, Iced Earth's "Burnt Offerings" and "The Glorious Burden", Mago de Oz's "Finisterra" mixed in with some singles I dig (Stormlord's - Moon Child for example). |

| Welcome!
Well, if ya started off with Ride The Lightning, you definately were on the right track from the start. Just to throw a few at ya that are my personal favs:
Saxon - Demin and Leather
Anthrax - Among the Living
Motley Crue - Too Fast for Love
Obviously any Priest, WASP, or Maiden you can get your hands on, etc. |

| Looks like I got my work cut out for me. Its sweet to talk to real metal fans since NO ONE in my immediate family or group of friends enjoys metal (a crying shame). Thanks for all the suggestions!
Btw: this probably has been discussed already but for any Iced Earth fans, Is the ousting of Matt (Barlow i think is his last name) for Tim Owens sacrilege or a brilliant move?
My opinion? I was leaning toward sacrilege but I have warmed up to the new album considerabily. One of my favorite activities after work was to blast anything from Burnt Offerings in my car and just ROCK OUT like a madman! I swear I could feel the cares and stress melt off me lol. I mix it up more now depending on how i feel and really started listening to the The Glorius Burden. Bottom line : Tim is an awsome vocalist (although there will never be another Matt -I hope hes happy as a cop because he is missed) so thumbs up for my two cents. |
