I’m not a huge fan of guitar player spotlight solo releases.
But I have Vinnie Moore’s “ Minds Eye “ - Joe Sat. “ Surfing with the Alien”
Tony MacAlpine “ Maximum Security “ - Steve Via’s greatest hits - etc

This one was released June 1987. Has help from Paul Gilbert. MacAlpine on keyboards.
Mike Varney producer. Recorded in California. Shrapnel Records.
Not bad ! I never knew this release even existed till now.

I also got this CD - Asomvel - horrible name for a band. WTF.
For fans of Motorhead = aggressive = young = tough = stories.
Reminds me of Metropolis and Like a Nightmare mixed together.

The dude from Jag Panzer eh? Interesting. I just took in a few tracks. He's got what it takes but that's about it. My biggest issues, especially as a guitarist, with most of the instrumental shred albums of that era is that no one could write an inspired, memorable piece. Except for Satch. Or Vai. Kind of Vai.

These guys also remind me of Sabbath too - those type riffs.

Glower, Asomvel has a new album that just came out - World Shaker. This album has a different lead singer, but they still sound like Motorhead.
