What's your favorite pop song from the 80's? I'd love to see them! Let me know what you men think of Breakfast Club!

There were a lot of good pop songs from that era. Here's one that popped into my mind :

I'm a big pop fan of the 80's. I think things started to trend a little differently around '87. but I still like stuff though around 92 to 93. As big of a metal guy as I am, I always have needed some sort of balance in my life, musically.

Pretty hard to pick a favorite. Major Tom, Alive and Kicking, Rain In the Summertime, Africa. Maybe this is the top one.

Tough to pick but I went with TFF (and I hated them back then). This live version is fabulous. They still can nail it.

Probably this one, only because I was and still am in lust with Susanna Hoffs.

I really don't consider Prince "pop", but

Since Lari beat me to "Safety Dance," here's another '80s ear worm. I heard this one in the supermarket this morning, and immediately thought "Well, now that's gonna be stuck in my head all friggin day." Haha.
The Wiki page for "Come Dancing" is quite an interesting read. In spite of the song's peppy, upbeat vibe, the song actually has a fairly tragic back story. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_Dancing_(song)

The Kinks are so much more then your average 80's pop band. Good song.

True, but this was definitely the biggest of their "pop" hits. I love the video too, it's like a mini movie. They don't make'em like that anymore.

I like me some Kinks. I played the crap outta "Give The People What They Want" back in college. Our favorite local bar band used to play "Around The Dial" all the time (the same band that introduced me to UFO when they played "Shoot Shoot")

I still play GTPWTW, imo it's as good or better then anything the Stones did.

That same cover band (Knight Rider) also played "Destroyer" from that album. I'm not sure if it's the music or the memories that keep me coming back to that Kinks album but I too still spin GTPWTW.
