| So, I am hitting that big ol' Fitty [50] milestone next week that no one, that I know, thought I would ever hit. Got a bunch of my peoples meeting me at the Warrant show to celebrate, drink Heinekens, embarrass ourselves to impressionable 40 year old girls, etc. [If you are in the Metal-Apolis area on Feb 22, stop by the Medina!]
So, there has been a lot of cross-talk about this band in other threads. Let's just throwdown and see which Warrant Album RULES?!?!
As a side note, I saw Kix with an old member of this board, whom shall go nameless, at the House of Blues in Hollywood in 2010. Jani Lane came out of hiding and did a couple encores with them. Little did I know he would be dead less than a year later. He was looking good, man.
Another side note - I have always been a fan of Jamie St James and Robert Mason, whatever they have done, including the Warrant albums. But I am keeping this poll Jani Lane Specific.

| Dog Eat Dog is a fabulous and underappreciated album. Machine Gun is RipFire and, by far, my fav Warrant track. | |

| This is a close one for me; it's either "Cherry Pie" or "Dog Eat Dog"
I agree with the assessment that "DED" is under-rated. That album freakin' rocks!
But I also really dig the "Cherry Pie" album; I actually prefer either one to "Dirty...Rich"(whatever the actual name of that thing is) ; I hated that album because it was chock-full of ballads. Then Warrant came out with "Cherry Pie" and I was like "OK, that's more like it." _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Cherry Pie for sentimental reasons, but Dog Eat Dog is a better album overall. I'd call it their most focused, perhaps? | |

| Can I vote for a tie between Dog Eat Dog and Cherry Pie? No, ok I’ll go with CP for sentimental reasons. Jani was such a great songwriter. He’s truly missed. | |

| I've only heard DRFSR in its entirety and I liked it well enough but never got their other albums. I do own a Best Of by them and like the songs on there from Cherry Pie and Dog Eat Dog. | |

| I listen to them all somewhat regularly except for Under the Influence. I didn't think they really added much to any of those cover songs. DED and CP could easily switch places on any given day.
1. Dog Eat Dog (10/10) 2. Cherry Pie (9.75/10) 3. Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinkin' Rich (8/10) 4 Ultraphobic (7/10) 5. Belly to Belly (5/10) 6. Under the Influence (4/10)
Enjoy the show Uncle Saxon! I'll be seeing them on June 1 near Chicago. I really enjoy this lineup's live show.

| I only saw Jani live once, when he was filling in for Jack Russell in Great White. It was a great show, and he did a short acoustic set of Warrant hits in the middle. It turned out to be his last live performance before he died. | |

| To be fair, when it comes to Warrant, the only albums I need are the Greatest Hits album (which has all the songs I like from the first two albums) and Dog Eat Dog. I do like the post-Jani albums, but thats a different thing entirely. | |

| I voted Cherry Pie, but Dog Eat Dog is amazing.
Cherry Pie was a favorite of mine when it came out, so I've heard it hundreds of times. By the time Dog Eat Dog came out, I don't think I even knew it existed. I had moved on from that type of stuff and was more interested in hardcore, punk and thrash. In the early 2000s, I came across Dog in a cheap used bin and took a shot with it, and thought it was great.
A lot of those bands seemed to put out good albums when no one was really watching any more.

| DED is heavier, and there are parts of that album that I love.
But Uncle Tom' Cabin, I Saw Red, Bed Of Roses, Blind Fath, and Mr Rainmaker are better than anything on DED, IMO. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| I remember the "Hollywood's Best Muff Diving Band" flyers and t shirts back when they ruled the Strip. Hard to believe that them and Holy Soldier were top draws in Hollywood at about the same time.
Warrant has great songs, but I'm not really into their albums. Might have a few tapes (I think), gonna have to dig em out and rock out in honor of Uncle Nut Sax turning "Spiffy Fiffy". Have fun brother. _________________

I recall seeing him guest on That Metal Show, looking fit as ever. You couldn't tell the guy had issues. Great attitude, healthy color. And boom, what, a week or two later? Gone. That's amazing that you got to be there for his final appearance. How was he? And not just his performance, but his appearance et al?

| I queued up Dog Eat Dog. Listening to "April 2031", man, such a good song.
Wild to imagine the same dudes soaking Bobbi Brown with a firehouse while singing "I mix the batter, she licks the beater" had this kind of stuff in them.

| Even though I loved DRFSR the first time I heard it, I thought they stepped it up for Cherry Pie, so that gets my vote.
I didn't like Dog Eat Dog at the time when I bought it on cassette as a new release. I only upgraded to cd a few years ago. It's a damn fine album though. Just wasn't what I expected at the time.
I saw them back in the day opening for Poison in Philly, by themselves in a small club in Virginia Beach and in LA watching Metal Skool (aka Steel Panther) when they pulled a very inebriated Jani on-stage to sing with them. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
