| I've always wondered where the dude behind www.classicthrash.com went to. His last review was posted in 2013 (interestingly enough the year Jeff Hanneman died) but the site is still up and kicking. I've emailed through the site but never got a reply. Anyone know? I really dig his content; the volume of coverage is monolithic and I've discovered a great number of obscure bands just scrolling through there on a Sunday or Saturday afternoon. | |

| I have no information about it, but will echo your thoughts about it being great.
Another good website is The Thrash Metal Guide. It's much more comprehensive, but that makes it hard to actually discover anything. I use it when I find out about a new band to get an opinion on it.

| Wow never heard of The Thrash Metal Guide. Thanks for mentioning it. Decent write-up of Avenger of Blood too. | |

| I was pondering about Classic Thrash recently myself, as it hasn't been updated in years.
I did discover a lot of albums through that site.
I always thought it was weird how he seemed to give a lot of albums nearly all would agree are greats of the genre mediocre/lukewarm reviews (Beneath the Remains, Pleasure to Kill, etc.), though.

YES! His review of Bonded by Blood stands out in that regard, yet he's very mannered and well-written about it. He never full on disses an album, but won't hesitate to point its setbacks. I'm curious about his opinion on a bunch of modern releases.

| Love that website. I also wondered why it hasn't been updated in years. I also miss Kmorg's metal metropolis a lot. | |

I'm curious about his opinion on a bunch of modern releases. I'd be interested as well. I remember at one time he flat out refused to review anything from beyond the mid 1990s, but he later caved in and added reviews for them (his favorite 21st century thrash metal album is Destruction - The Antichrist). He also initially refused to review Christian thrash metal, though he decided to review them eventually. He still continued to refuse to review albums by thrash metal bands that weren't in English, however (there are a few bands he has reviewed with albums in the style that aren't in English, and he didn't review those albums, only the English language albums).

| I noticed a couple of albums he had reviewed on the site have disappeared as well.
Many years ago, he had a review of Lääz Rockit - Know Your Enemy.

However, he later removed the review for that album, even know he still has the reviews for Annihilation Principle and Nothing$ $acred.
He also used to have a review for Bitter End - Harsh Realities.

However, he later removed it. I wonder what his reason for that was.
In his original review for Dyoxen - First Among Equals, he actually made a reference to Bitter End, but he deleted that reference later on.

Never heard of the site, but the domain info was updated in 2017 (likely renewed) and it's good till 2021, so someone is maintaining at least that.
