| Saxon, then Priest would be a distant second. Like WG said, "Maiden has sucked since 1988" _________________ | |

Anyhow it would be Priest, Saxon,.............................................................................Maiden Priest formed in the 1960s. I know that, there is still the fact that all of these bands were slogging along long before the NWOBHM movement began but it helped them reach a broader audience, Motorhead too. Fact is that heavy bands couldn't get arrested in the U.K while the whole punk thing was going on so when people got bored of safety pins and spitting at each other, there were some pretty tight bands waiting to take advantage. Although Priest were god knows how many albums in I still consider British Steel a NWOBHM classic.

| Priest Saxon Maiden
Maiden's last few albums have been very subpar to me. Hearing it live is a completely different story. BUT you said to rank them on the albums!

I know British Steel was a influential album released during the NWOBHM phase. I just tend to identify those bands that debuted in 1979/80 as those that mainly belong to it. The same way that most people lump the bands of the grunge era together.

| 1. Saxon: The Inner Sanctum and Lionheart are two of my favorite Saxon releases out of their discography. They would have to be first.
2. Iron Maiden, I love Brave New World and Dance of Death but things really drop off quickly after that for me.
3. Priest: Firepower is amazing, but the others are mediocre at best.

| Iron Maiden gets more repeated spins from me these days. I've come to appreciate their longer, proggier stuff of late.
Priest is a close second. I've still never really warmed up to Nostradamus, but I've thoroughly enjoyed their other albums since the 2000's.
Saxon is a band I just never really got into. I had Lionheart and Killing Ground at one point and still own a comp of theirs. I admire their gumption, but I'm just not a big fan. No reason really. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

SACRILEGE!!! Yeah I know, Haha. Really I don’t have anything against them I just never have bought any of their albums. Maybe one day I’ll check them out. It was a long time before I ever got into Priest. If you're looking for some latter-day Saxon to try, I'd suggest this 2-cd collection... It's a good way to test the waters without breaking the bank. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | That's a good one, Dave. I actually grabbed that one cheap from Amazon just to have in the car for a long trip.

That collection paired with Heavy Metal Thunder (modern re-recordings of their old hits) gives me all the Saxon I need at this point in life. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
