"The Titan Find" aka "Creature" (1985)
A space salvage crew encounters a crazy stranded German astronaut (Klaus Kinski!) and a carnivorous whatchamacallit on one of Saturn's moons in this cheap, gory "Alien" knockoff. This flick doesn't have an original bone in its body, but it's enjoyable z-grade fun.

Heroes (1977)
Henry Winkler stars as a troubled Vietnam vet who escapes a mental hospital to fulfill his dream of a worm farm in California with other former vet friends of his. Along the way he hooks up with Sally Field. Descent enough film.

"Age of Dinosaurs" (2013)
A bio-genetics firm re-creates living dinosaurs, which of course escape and take to the streets of L.A., causing lots of cheaply CGI'd mayhem and destruction. Treat Williams is a firefighter who just wants to keep his teenage daughter safe from the critters. The Asylum's typically cheesy knock-off of the "Jurassic" saga is mostly terrible, of course, but it's entertainingly silly junk.

Lazy Monday afternoon double feature:
"John Wick" (2014)
Keanu Reeves is a retired professional assassin who heads back to work after Russian mobsters steal his car and (worst of all) kill his dog. This box office smash obviously doesn't have much plot, but it brings the mayhem in spades. This flick is simply one bad-ass action sequence after another. Tons of sadistic fun! Now I'm gonna have to catch the two sequels...
"Eaten Alive!" (1980)
An American woman hires a guide and heads into the jungles of New Guinea to find her missing sister, who ran off and joined a Jonestown-style religious cult based smack in the middle of savage cannibal country. You can probably figure out how well it turns out for everyone involved. There isn't anything in this trashy man-eater saga (directed by Umberto "Nightmare City" Lenzi) that you haven't already seen in other Italian cannibal flicks, but it piles on so much sleaze and gross-out gore that you'll feel like you need a shower when it's over.

Over the weekend I watched All In The Family and The Jeffersons Live on ABC. It was pretty cool with an all star cast redoing 2 classic episodes.

The Nun
Very rarely will I get 1/2 or more into a movie and just bail, but this was horrible. I have a high tolerance when it comes to horror movies, but this one just got so messy/convoluted/disjointed.
Something the Lord Made - I don't know why I avoided this over the years but this was a really good true story about an unsung hero/pioneer of the heart surgery world.

I'd say I liked the first movie the most, but the second one and this one were on par for me as VERY enjoyable sequels. The action set-pieces are some of the best going!
They blatantly set up for a 4th movie, and I'll gladly hand my money over to see it when it comes out.

We may have discussed this around here before but heck I'll say it again, I love this movie! There does exist an uncut version authorized by director William Malone, and it's the only release with the correct aspect ratio. Out of print, sadly, but it was on YouTube a while back. It's probably the best dumb Alien knockoff I've ever seen. Klaus Kinski really buoys things with his overt charm. And the poster/VHS art promises way more than the movie delivers, but I don't care, it's a hoot!
I suggest the classic Star Crystal for a double feature.

More American Graffiti (1979)
Sequel to the 1973 classic, following the further adventures of the original cast members, sans Richard Dreyfuss. The movie is set on the same day (New Years Eve) in four separate years , '64 '65 '66 and '67 (each filmed in a different style) and dealing mostly with the Vietnam War and the anti war movement here in the States. This was widely panned but I always liked it.

I've seen "Star Crystal." I doubt I'll ever want to revisit it, haha. This was my 3rd or 4th time watching "Creature/Titan Find", tho. I have it on DVD but it's one of those dollar store double feature things that looks like it was dubbed off an old rental VHS, haha. This time I watched it on the Tubi-TV streaming channel, the print they're using is still a little dark & murky in places but at least it was in widescreen.

Honestly it's such a nostalgic title for me that I'm totally cool with seeing a crappy VHS print haha. I really should grab an original tape off ebay (yes, I still use a VCR!).

Oh yeah, I'm the same way. Those Dollar Store public-domain horror double feature DVDs were a gold mine for me in the early '00s, I miss them. The print quality almost always sucked but watching them brought back fond fuzzy memories of the VHS era and added to the flicks' overall "grindhouse" vibe.
To this day, I still prefer my crappy, washed out dollar store DVD of Lenzi's "City of the Walking Dead" (aka "Nightmare City") over the cleaned up version available on the various streaming services now.

Exactly! Pissy quality only adds to the charm.
It's funny because I'm a bit of a closet videophile with movies and a sucker for restorations and such, but some titles are just fine in my book if they're on a low-res source. Watching an old favorite VHS or an cheap DVD on a CRT TV is like a time machine, glow from the monitor et al.

Bad Dreams (1988)
A girl is the sole survivor of a mass suicide of a cult but is in a coma for 13 years. She awakens and is convinced that the ghost of the cult leader is back and killing off people around her. Or is he? Really good cast in this and it's better than it has any right to be.

^^ I remember that one -- in fact I think I may have seen it durin its theatrical run, haha.
If memory serves it was somewhat similar to "Nightmare on Elm Street 3," the lead girl was even in both movies.

I started disc 3 of The Klingon Collective and it's amazing how these selected episodes for the collection reference each other.
Disc 3 starts with an episode from Deep Space Nine that refers back to things that happened in Star Trek TNG. In fact the Klingon leader Gowron(or however you spell it) is actually played by the same actor in this episode.
So far each episode in this collection has referred to or in some cases relied upon the previous episodes to tell the story. It would be easily missed watching each Star Trek series on its own but in this context I find the continuity to be (in the words of Spock) "fascinating".
BTW, about 5 minutes into this latest episode I spotted a familiar face - albeit she was about 25 years younger. The actress playing the "love interest" of the DS9 commander is the same actress playing the doctor on Fox's "The Orville".
