What's the link between the two bands?

Its Icon's song from 1984.

Ah okay. Been a very long time since I've listened to any of Icon, I didn't recognize it.

Sure changes the sound but I like it.

The guitarist - his solos - red hot work - many solos step above the song !

Cool. Thanks, glower. That first Icon album is one of my all time favorite albums. I think they did a good cover; they made it their own without destroying the spirit of the original.

I only own one October 31 cd, meet thy maker. I am way behind on these guys. Will include a couple of their cds on my next order. What do you recommend?

Love everything from Icon and actually I have a tattoo of their logo. Still remember trying hard for 10+ years to persuade their guitarist to sell me his red leather jacket, but , alas, in vain!

They are all pretty much the same, Gilbert - so might as well go to the beginning with The Fire Awaits You.

But, if you like their covers, Metal Massacre 31 is a way cool idea for an album [haven't heard it, but the tracklist is phenomenal!!].

I just bought “ Meet Thy Maker “ - arrived yesterday.
I read a very interesting, humble, interview with King Fowley the other day -
Will try to track it down and post it. He’s been on the scene for a while !
I saw Icon - but was shocked - inside the club - it was a new singer.
The singer saw me unhappy - and they were opening the show with Under The Gun -
He began singing aggressively - may have pointed at me -
Half the crowd turned - to see who I was -
That was way back too, maybe 1988 or so.
I hear the first singer became Christian - via his girlfriend.

I heard a few samples from their latest album of covers. I agree. It is phenomenal .

Bought this CD recently.
The singer sounds very similar to that of the Icon singer !

I purchased the two albums by COBRA almost two years ago. Excellent forgotten NWOBHM band.

I highly recommend you check out their other album Warriors Of The Dead.

Playing some October 31 today - on Memorial Day !
