| The new album by Tourniquet is out now (only the digital release, the cd will be released later and the vinyl even later).
You can stream and/or buy and download the album on Bandcamp: https://tourniquet.bandcamp.com/album/gazing-at-medusa
When I listened to it through for the first time I thought it was disappointingly unmemorable and hard to get into. It got better the more I listened to it and now I really love the album.
Drumming is top notch and really aggressive especially what comes to the double bass drums and although I first dismissed the solos of Poland and Guerra as really unmemorable I have really grown to love them. Poland does this bluesy feel-based soloing in many songs with really good and cool little details put in here and there. I love the solos especially in Memento Mori and The Crushing Weight of Eternity.
Ripper does a really good job too.
Favorite tracks (in order of appearance): Memento Mori The Crushing Weight of Eternity The Peaceful Beauty of Brutal Justice Can't Make Me Hate You (this was my least favorite song at first but now it's one of my favorites) One Foot in Forever Gazing at Medusa
Yeah, it's most of the tracks. If I should recommend three of those to you, I'd probably pick The Crushing Weight of Eternity, The Peaceful Beauty of Brutal Justice and One Foot in Forever.
What do you think about the album?

| Better then the last one by miles. Tim reminds me of Luke at times which is a nice touch. | |

| All Tourniquet albums needs a few listenings before i can decide if i like it or not. This one may be better than the last (but that was terrible). I think this is a huge dissapointment. Nothing memorable and no emotions. Where are the classical parts that makes Touriquet special? Owens is a hired gun and that`s easy to hear..... I have wasted enough time trying to like this album. Time to spin Antiseptic Bloodbath, their last masterpiece | |

| First listen through and it didn't do much for me. The best song imo is the title track. I think Dean did a good job on it. | |

| From what I've heard, I think it was a mistake using Ripper. His phoned in vocals are generic. Ted needs to reconnect with Guy Ritter! Since Tourniquet is basically just a studio band, he wouldn't be away from his family or real job too long... just a few gigs for festivals. | |

Not very Christian of them... Hasn't enough time passed?

Maybe... But it wouldn't hurt to see if they could work together or make a reunion album for old times sake. Most Tourniquet fans like the classic era.

| Sometimes you just can't work together, Christian or no. It's better to accept that and be at peace with each other than try to make it work and be filled with anger/frustration towards each other.

| I was so excited about this one...but might have been duped by the title track.
Gazing at Medusa IS a fantastic song. Really good, and the opener is pretty good, as well. However, I find the middle seven songs to be...meh...
Maybe a few more listens? That said, I find myself once again longing for the good ol' days of the first three, which were as good as three albums can be from any band, ever.

| My expectation were low after the last one so i'm pleasantly surprised by this. That said, it wouldn't be a top 5 of theirs for me. | |

| Upon further review and listening...I'm just so disappointed. I love Ripper Owens, and of course have a long history of loving TQT but this just slogs through for the middle seven songs. The opener is pretty good, and Gazing at Medusa is great...but the rest I can't listen to.
I'll probably keep it because if nothing else the album artwork is fantastic.

| Yet another disappointing release...
Ted needs to find a real band again! Since Gary is not coming back, I would suggest Ted give Kurt Bachman from Believer a call. Between the two of them, I think they could create something really cool and original.

Yeah, early 90s Christian thrash was actually great imo. Bands like Believer and Tourniquet were unique. Even by secular standards.

| Kurt Bachman doesn't exactly seem to be on fire for Jesus any more. I frankly don't think he could play Tourniquet's old material, but it's an interesting idea. Clearly something needs to change with Tourniquet.

Has he denied being a Christian? I haven’t heard anything. I’m thinking more along the lines of him and Ted starting a side band with their old aggressive thrash styles. I’m sure the lyrical content would be about science and animal rights topics.
