GUNS N' ROSES will release a new version of its classic 1987 debut album, "Appetite For Destruction", on June 29 via Universal Music Group.
An unboxing video of the remastered and expanded "Locked N' Loaded" reissue has revealed that it will include 73 songs (49 of which are previously unreleased) spread out across four CDs and seven 12-inch 180-gram LPs.
In addition to a remastered version of the original album (presented across two LPs), there will be the band's 1986 "Live ?!*@ Like A Suicide" EP, a second EP containing B-sides from the era, 25 previously unreleased recordings from the band's 1986 sessions at Sound City studios, and two previously unreleased tracks from GN'R's sessions with producer Mike Clink.
The super deluxe version will also include a 96-page handbound book with unreleased photos from Axl Rose's personal archive, 12 new illustration lithos visualizing each song from "Appetite For Destruction", and replica memorabilia.
More details coming soon.

Looks awesome!
I'm sure it will cost an arm and a leg though.

Right now, there is a listing for the "Super Deluxe" version on Amazon for $178.
I hoping there will be a less-expensive version released as well. I have no use for vinyl and could do without the book and all the other bells & whistles. I could really just get by with the cds.

I hope they release just the remastered album with the previously unreleased songs. I don't need the photo book...
(although I would just get the whole thing if it was a more reasonable price)

4 CDs or 7 (!!) LPs? Yeesh.
Remember when GnR was a gritty, street level rock n roll band? Good times, good times.

There's going to be several versions of this including a remastered CD version and a 2 disc deluxe CD version. Those are already on Amazon.

I Will probably order this one. Would love to have the whole she-bang but this will probably be sufficient.
I'd be interested in that one but it's not a high priority

This looks really cool. I am not a "super deluxe" purchase guy (unless it's Priest, Maiden, or Whitesnake) but I am definitely in for some of the other versions Witchfinder described. It would be great to finally have a tangible copy of "Live ?!*@ Like A Suicide" and some unedited live stuff and rarities. Thanks for the news, MG.

It's funny. I used to have most of those Sound Session recordings back on cassette tape that were 20th generation dubs. I haven't heard them in 20 years or so.

I do not collect vinyl, so no interest in the vinyl version, but will grab the deluxe version of this album.

The vast majority of the 49 "unreleased" tracks are live and acoustic versions. Aside from "Shadow of Your Love," which is an ok song, none of this seems essential. Maybe slightly more so than the reproductions of vintage concert tickets and skull rings that come with the $999 Locked N Loaded version...

I may be mistaken but I think I detect a slight note of sarcasm in the above post.

I hate when bands do this. They advertise a bunch of "previously unreleased tracks" which leads fans to think they might be getting new music that was cut out of previous releases or were just discovered or something. Then it turns out these tracks are just live or acoustic version of songs everyone already has. Pisses me off. The one band that DIDN'T do that was The Answer; when they included a bonus disc of unreleased music it was almost all new stuff or demos of songs that were never actually recorded for an album.

Totally agree, sir. If Y&T (Unearthed Vol. 1 and 2) and Rough Cutt, White Lion, and Winger (the demo anthology stuff from Cleo recs) can do it then certainly a band that has the status of Guns can do it as a stand alone. Hey, at least there are no "radio edits" or "video edit" versions as an unreleased track. That pisses me off big time.
I can't remember, but wasn't there some Metallica thing few years back about 50 concerts or something like that? How many different versions of "Master of Puppets" or "One" do you need in your collection?

That's a good point. Those are so annoying.

Yes, they put out "25 Nights Down Under" which was 25 shows from 2010 and 2013. It went for $395. They had another one available in the $400 range but I don't know the specifics on that one.
Not to be outdone, KISS put out the Alive 35 Kollector's Box, featuring a double disc live recording of every show on the North American tour. It sold for $1,195, although I've never found anyone who actually bought one, and I've never seen one on Ebay.
I do get the point of having tons of recording of the same songs. I have hundreds of bootlegs from some bands. But this kind of thing takes all of the fun out of collecting and listening to bootlegs, as they are all soundboard recordings using the exact same equipment.
Despite the variations in sound quality, audience sourced bootlegs just tend to capture something about the contingent personality of a given live performance that is totally lost on these mass produced soundboard recordings.

If I was getting 49 actual unreleased songs I would be in but I have no need for different versions of all the songs I already have.

looks like the first 2 disks are the rerelease of the first two albums Appetite & lies, I was expecting some covers like Heartbreak Hotel, Dead Flowers, and Whole Lotta Rosie as I have bootlegs with them doing these (with Steven Adler) Shadow of your Love was a B-side I think to Welcome to the Jungle cant 100% remember.
I have also a instrumental of Perfect Crime no words just a jam at the time.
I was excited about this till I saw the track listing though i see a few titles im not familiar with
