The good - it's got six good songs and overall, is a big improvement over Death Magnetic. The bad - it's too long and James's voice is irritating on most tracks.
(shrugs) Ehhh...it's OK. I bought it, listened to it a bunch of times for the next couple of weeks, then it went on the shelf and it hasn't come off very often since then.

I think it's a great album. I voted "love" although that may be overstating it a bit. Metallica has always been my least favorite of the Big Four, but I have to admit they did a great job on this one.

I'd give it a 7/10.
That more-or-less echoes my thoughts. James vocals don't bother me, but I do agree that it's both an improvement over DM and that it is however too long. It probably could have been shaved down to one disc. The 3rd disc of live material seemed really unnecessary to me. I think I listened to it once.

Same here. On subsequent listens, I went about as far as that "Ronnie Rising" cover medley, and that was all.
Yea, and I already had that one from the original tribute album from whence it came.
