Watching Royals @ Cardinals
Rookie OF Tyler Oneill just hit a 3-run shot to the opposite field, his third HR in three games since being called up a few days ago.
EDIT: And holy crap O'neill just doubled in another run in the 5th. He already has 4 RBI for this game. At this rate, somebody in the Cardinal outfield is going to be riding the pine.

I'm starting to hate PNC Park; the Cardinals SUCK there!
You know the Cardinals are throwing in the towel on a game when they bring Greg Holland in. And true to form Holland gives up back to back triples. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I can suck just as bad as Holland for 1% of what he's making.

If you ever get the chance, go to PNC. It's a great venue. As for the game, good to see the Pirates bounce back after a lackluster series in Cincy.

No question, PNC is a beautiful venue but it sure has turned into a house of horrors for the Cardinals. Tonight's game was a classic example.

Watching the Pirates bullpen pull "A Holland" (as in Greg).

Well after dropping a bunch of games in a row at PNC Park, the Cardinals finally managed to win a series there. They came back from a 4-1 deficit to win 6-4 today thanks to a shaky Bucs' bullpen. Now on to Milwaukee...

Watched the Cardinals just roll over and die for Milwaukee. The Cards pen outside of Bud Norris and Jordan Hicks just plain SUCKS! Give me 1% of what either Brett Cecil or Greg Holland make and I can screw up games for a lot cheaper.

I was thinking that earlier in the season when Kenley Jansen was blowing saves. Or anytime that Pedro Baez pitched.

I haven't caught a Bucco game all weekend save for the Friday night win against the Cards but I see that they have been playing to what everyone's expectations have been the last three games.

I see the league has basically issued an apology for NOT calling interference on Anthony Rizzo's slide into the Pirates catcher in yesterday's game, EVEN AFTER A REVIEW!
And of course before the MLB statement came out today, Joe Madden was spouting off about how it was just a good, hard, CLEAN play. You can bet your last dollar if someone had done that to the Cubs catcher Madden would have been screaming bloody murder about how dirty it was.
Geez I hate that guy and this is a good example of why. I know managers are supposed to stick up for their players but the GOOD ones will admit if their guy makes a mistake. Not this bastard. At the very least, if you're going to act so nonchalant when your team executes a play like this then don't treat it like a capital offense when another team does the same to you.

Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks Maddon flip flops depending on if his team is the offender or the offended. He felt the need to say this:
Quote :
"I'm here to tell the group that believes if Willson (Contreras) got knocked down, or (Chris) Gimenez, that I would have reacted differently, you're so wrong, you're so wrong," Maddon said.
He's so full of crap it comes out his mouth.

Today I had to LISTEN to the Cardinal game on the radio because it was the stupid Facebook game of the week.
I sure hope MLB rethinks this dumbass policy after this year. If they want to "broadcast" games on Facebook, that's fine. But don't make it an exclusive; that's just bad business strategy if you ask me.
The Cards lost to the Brewers 3-2 so I guess I'm glad I didn't see it anyway.

But they've come back nicely.
This has been the worst start I've seen Flaherty have this year. He's really labored to this point.

The Cardinal feed of the game is showing Flaherty in the dugout and he's really pissed at himself. He's talking to himself, chewing on his jersey, etc. Pitching coach Mike Maddox went over to try to calm him down.
I like that competitive fire. Don't settle for mediocre. Don't blame the umps or your team members. Blame yourself. I like this kid.

So now it's a bullpen battle. I don't know much about the Pirates' pen but I know outside of Jordan Hicks and Bud Norris our's sucks.

Well let me put it this way, a local sports talk show host calls the Pirates bullpen the bullpencil because it can erase any lead the team may have.

8-5 Pirates
OK, if your pen is the bullpencil, what the hell is ours?
