Cable tv continues to run movies of my developing teenage years. Last night I watched 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High'.
Still classic.

Are you watching this on DVD, or is it streaming somewhere? I haven't seen that show in dog years but I enjoyed watching it during its original run.

Youtube. I think the entire series is on there. I'm only on the first season but I haven't come across a gap in episodes yet. And this was a series that I remember being on but I somehow missed it. I was surfing the net and came across an article about the 10 best episodes of it and it sounded like something I'd really enjoy (and I have). It's a bit dated I guess but the stories are fun.

Cool, I'll have to check it out. I used to watch that on Saturday or Sunday afternoons when I was in college. It was one of those "first run syndication" original shows that ran on local independent stations, like "Star Trek TNG," "War of the Worlds," "Tales From the Darkside," "Monsters," etc.

Same here. But I'm almost done with Stargate: Atlantis and I've got a boatload of new stuff to watch including The Rebirth Of Mothra I, II and III. I didn't even know there was more than one and now I have all three on blu ray.

I'm actually just watching the news. Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald spoke at John McCain's funeral. I've always thought Fitzgerald was a class act and this just proves it. He and McCain didn't agree on everything but they were still good friends (which is news to me). I think we could all learn a lot from that.

Yes, it's based off two of his short stories.

Is it any good? I've found Clive Barker theatrical adaptations to be problematic.

It was decent IMO. It was a little slow and not very gory (for a Clive Barker movie anyway), but the atmosphere was okay the movie overall was well made.

"Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation" (2008)
B-Movie documentarian Mark Hartley of "Electric Boogaloo" fame zooms in on the Australian exploitation film scene. When Aussie censorship laws were loosened in the early 70s, local filmmakers responded with a wave of home grown raunchy sex comedies, gory horror films and ultra-violent car crashin' action flicks that packed drive-ins across Oz and became video-store staples around the world. Includes lots of clips from trashy classics like "Patrick," " Razorback, " "Roadgames" and "Mad Max" as well as interviews with directors like Brian Trenchard-Smith and Russell Mulcahy, stars like former 007 George Lazenby, Barry "Dame Edna" Humphries and Jamie Lee Curtis, and junk-film fan boy Quentin Tarantino. Entertaining and informative stuff - I added at least a dozen movies to my "must watch" list!

HAHAHA!
I looked that "NQH" up on IMdb and one guy started talking about "Turkey Shoot" in his review. I was like "That sure sounds familiar..." Sure enough, I have the unrated, director's cut except it's called "Escape 2000". When the IMdb reviewer started talking about "werewolves in dune buggies" I knew I had to have that flick in my collection somewhere because how many movies have something like that in them????
I didn't really recognize anything else in that trailer other than Mad Max. I thought for sure Dead Alive or Meet The Feebles would make an appearance. Reading the IMdb writeup I see Body Melt is referenced and I have that but it's the R-rated version so I've only watched it once and don't remember anything about it except being bored out my skull.
What flicks did you add to your must watch list FF?

Definitely wanna see "Turkey Shoot/Escape 2000," and "Razorback" (a killer giant-wild-boar movie? Hell yeah!), plus I've always wanted to see "Road Games" w/Jamie Lee Curtis and Stacy Keach. I have vague memories of seeing "Patrick" dog years ago but I'd like to revisit it. They also talked about a couple of horror flicks I'd never heard of before, but sound interesting - "Snapshot" (released in the US as "The Day After Halloween" for some reason), a vampire flick called "Thirst," and something called "Lost Weekend." I'm gonna have to see if any of em are on Netflix/Amazon/etc.
Peter Jackson is from New Zealand, isn't he? That's probably why there was no mention of "Feebles" or "Dead Alive" in this doc. He's not Aussie.

You're right, my bad.
And I think I've seen "Razorback" but it was the MST3K version.

"Gamer" (2009)
It's the near future and in the next generation of online role-playing video games, nerds can control a real live mind-controlled death-row inmate across an urban battlefield from the comfort of their La-Z-Boy recliners. When one such fighter (Gerard Butler) rejects his programming and escapes from the game back into the "real" world, a whole lotta people naturally want him dead. This flashy, ultra violent shoot'em up borrows a lot of ideas from "Death Race 2000," "Tron," and "The Running Man," because it doesn't have a brain to call its own. My 11 year old video-game addict son was entertained, but I was checking my watch by the half way point of this one. AVOID.

Marky Mark (I still call him that, and I refuse to call him by the name he goes by now) stars in this rather mediocre, forgettable action thriller. A couple of good action scenes, plus Lauren Cohan is extremely hot. But there's not a whole lot else going on for this movie.
