Same here!  That was a funny episode on multiple levels.

War For The Planet Of The Apes (2017)



Third (and final?) film in the rebooted series. This one deals with Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes drawn into a battle with a ruthless human army colonel (Woody Harrelson). It has a good story and plenty of action. I think it might be my favorite of the three.

How was Fantastic Beasts?

It looked great from the trailers but I read it was connected to Harry Potter so I steered clear.

I enjoyed it. It IS connected to the Harry Potter universe, but only shown in a few character references, and knowledge of the original books / movies isn't necessary. The cast is all pretty spot on, and a lot of the creatures and FX are very neat.

Watched the Nightwish film Imaginareum last night.

Don't Breathe (2016)

Three thieves break into a home belonging to a blind Gulf War vet, thinking it will be easy pickings. Naturally, they get more than they bargained for and must fight for their lives.  This is a pretty decent tension filled movie.

I enjoyed Don't Breathe. Nice amount of tension, and pretty decent acting tas well.

A surgeon that specializes in paralysis is summoned to a castle to treat the Baron of the land, whose face has twisted into a permanent Joker-like grin after robbing his father's grave for a winning lottery ticket. William Castle directed this decent picture that plays out like an extended Twilight Zone episode.

I watched Austin City Limits last night with guests TV On The Radio and War On Drugs.

"Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke" (1978)


In the stoner-comedy duo's first movie adventure, the unwitting "Pedro" and "Man" have to drive a van made entirely out of compressed weed across the Mexican border into the U.S., followed by the determined-but-clueless narcotics cop, Sergeant Stadenko (Stacy Keach). Loaded with cheap, lowbrow gags from beginning to end (like all of C&C's flicks), "Up In Smoke" is dumb as a box of rocks but you can't help but laugh all the way through it. Far out, maaaan.
