French metal anyone?

I like a lot of te bands previously mentioned and from the great black/post black scene in France I'll just throw in

Alcest, Blut Aus Nord, Amesoeurs, Deathspell Omega, Les Discrets and Peste Noir.

I got to see them live a couple of years ago. I pointed out a funny coincidence when I met one of the band members.

Gorod used to be called Gorgasm, but changed their name to avoid confusion with the American death metal band of the same name.

Gorod's album A Maze of Recycled Creeds, which I bought at the show I saw them live at, was released on Unique Leader Records. Gorgasm (the American death metal band) used to be on the same label in the early 2000s.

Heavenly is a good French band. Fast and catchy Euro power metal

I'm with you on Satan Jokers!! Their song Samurai (also on les Fils du Metal) is a fucking JAM. Love that song. It's so heavy.

There's also Anonymus. Although the first album is the only all French album. On later albums, they have songs in English, Spanish, and Italian.

I am a big fan of the band Mercyless. Really killer thrashy death metal!

Didn't see anyone mention Massacra, they're also a good old school death metal band from France.

I was listening to them last week, actually.

Reviving an old thread here... I have been checking French metal on a steady basis. Here's a song i cannot seem to get enough of:

Stormspell just reissued this album by a French band (they sing in English). Very Iron Maiden influenced.
