French metal anyone?

As a french speaking individual who often travels to paris on business, i was curious to check out some french metal bands. And boy was i pleased. France has got some amazing old school bands who play an awesome brand of metal.

Being a fan of power/speed/thrash, i have so far discovered and acquired cds by the following bands:

ADX (possibly the most famous band)
Holy Pain
Rising steel (new band playing old school speed metal)

Also discovered a band called Sortilège recently. Will be ordering their albums soon.

Anyone else familiar with heavy metal bands from France?

The first band that comes to mind is Gojira.

Lyzanxia are excellent! Check out their amazing 2004 release Mindcrimes...featuring wicked drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Scarve, Megadeth, Soilwork etc...)

Scarve are fantastic...high quality technical brutality...and a great discography...

Destinity released The Inside in 2008...top notch melodic death metal...

And for something way cool with some metal influence, check out The Algorithm...seriously...

Oh, and that Gojira band might be worth checking out... ...

Yeah i am familiar with gojira. Not my favourite style though.

Gojira is a band that would make Jacques Cousteau proud.

Voivod is French Canadian (if that counts).

Was just checking lyzanxia. Not my style. Good music though.

I remember listening to this band Manigance. Their debut was quite good.

I can think of two off the top of my head:
I used to see these two turn up in the "import" bins a lot back in the day. I can't understand a word of 'em, but the first band sounds pretty good. The vocals on the second are kinda goofy:

Sortilege is in a league of its own. Their s/t EP is very good, and Larmes de Héros is one of the best metal albums ever created. Other than them, these are some that I know:

Oh, and this strange band that sounds more US metal than some US bands. Midpaced USPM.

Blackrain is probably my favorite. I saw them open for Ugly Kid Joe in Paris a couple of years ago.

Nightmare is who came to mind for me, decent power metal.

Yes they are called dynasty and they are really good.

In 2015 the singer and his brother quit the band, female fronted now, but still quite good...
