I could probably list 1,000 songs, but I was just going through my playlist for songs from 1980, so here's a few.

I can dig all those except one. Guess which one.
Also the late, great Dan Fogelberg had some great "mellow" albums despite how much I hate the song "Longer". I love the "Phoenix" album.

I was thinking of you, when I added the Journey selection, ha ha... Having said that, did you listen to that song and are you familiar with it? It's so different from what one might be used to hearing from the band.

I tried to but between the keyboards and Steve Perry's voice I could only last about a minute and a half.

This is actually one of my all time favorite songs...ever. Every time I hear it or see the movie, I'm 11 years old all over again. It's one of those songs that brings me right back to a specific place and time. That's one of my favorite things about music.

I am 48 now, but every time I hear this song, it takes me back to the feeling I had in 5th grade with my first girl friend.

I love early Elton John. I've seen him in concert more than any other artist (5 times).

I've never seen him but I would really like to. Most of his 70s albums are great.

Any love for 80s Cher? This song was actually written by Jon Bon Jovi (and later covered by Kane Roberts) but it's still a great ballad:

All of these songs are terrible, just terrible. However, with that said, my "mellow rock" guilty pleasure is Billy Joel. Mostly his stuff from the 70's. Just saw him live again this past summer for the 4th or 5th time.

Forgot about Christopher Cross. I have his first CD. A guilty pleasure indeed there are some great songs on his first album.
I used to love this song, not so much anymore. Still a good song but not something I would really play these days.

I could probably list quite a few if I think about it. I love a lot of mellow songs, but most of them are from metal artists. Not talking Scorpions ballads, just mellow songs. But these are some of my favorites from rock bands. Uriah Hepp, Come Away Melinda.
