The Dark Element

Anyone check out this band yet? It's Anette Olzon's new band/project. It sounds a lot like Nightwish, but older, better Nightwish, not the more grandiose, pompous (though still good) Nightwish of late.

Loving what I've heard so far, though. Really looking forward to the album!

It's great. I was hoping to hear her front some metal again. She was always my favorite Nightwish singer anyway.

Isn't the rest of the band the same as Cain's Offering? They're not terrible.

That's not bad for what it is; definitely better than the bloated songs Nightwish has been putting out for years.  The first song didn't do anything for me but I like the second one a lot better.

That second song is like modern Blind Guardian with a female singer.

I really hope Nightwish moves away from the more theatrical stuff in the future. I miss when that was secondary to the metal stuff, not the other way around.

Same here. I love early Nightwish.

If Floor ever leaves the band, I want them to replace her with this dude.
