Insert obvious "Pretty Noose" joke here.

Here's Megadeth paying tribute to Chris Cornell by playing "Outshined" in Japan when they heard the news while onstage.

Such a shame. Truly sad to get to the point to want to or even take your own life.
I really liked the early Soundgarden stuff a lot. As well as the Temple Of The Dog album. RIP Chris

I found the music of the bands Chris was in hit or miss but I loved the sound of his voice.
RIP

I'm shocked!
Although I consider myself a casual fan (Badmotorfinger), I really admired his vocal skills. I didn't think he was the type who would kill himself. Especially at age 52 and having survived the height of the Seattle drug era. Not to mention that he has young children that will be deeply affected for the rest of their lives.

I did notice how tired and lethargic he looked watching the video of his final performance in Detroit. It seems he was on something... some kind of substance. He looked disconnected and tired... similar to Weiland.

Temple Of The Dog's "Hunger Strike" was one of my favorite songs/videos from the early 90s.

Depression really screws with a person's entire sense of reality. Never been down that hole so deep that it got suicidal, but I can understand how it gets there. It harrowing how the inner dialogue can start justifying and making things (that in times of health would seem utterly wrong) seem real, reasonable or even right.
R.I.P to one of my favorite singers.

I'm in the same boat. I haven't had much to say about it really, despite the fact that it was like a punch in the gut to read it when I first saw the headline. I thought it was a hoax for sure, then looked into it some more and my heart sunk. Shit's sad as hell. I hope he rests in peace.

The poor guy definitely had some deep issues bottled up that he didn't know how to deal with. He made it 52 years, but I'm sure this wasn't the first time he wanted to end his life. Just looking at some of the song titles and lyrics over the years reveals his depression. Too bad we never know if someone will actually follow through with suicide.
